In 1912, "Olympus" merged with another magazine, "Pioneer", which had been founded two years earlier by Cy Van Meter and Cuyler Beall Jr.. This merger made it one of the largestgun magazines in Ohio at the time too. In 1935, "Pioneer" merged with another magazine, "Blackhawk", which had been founded three years earlier by Homer Blackhawk and Lewis Burtchbach Jr.. Fairview Park is a small town in Mahoning County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,611 at the 2000 census. It lies west of the city of Youngstown and east of Fairfield Township. The first settler in what is now Fairview Park was Nicholas McGowan in 1796. The name "Fairview" originated from a property owned by Judge John Fairchild near the present day intersection of Route 22 and US 34 in 1812. In 1825, Coles family purchased land that includes what is now Fairview Park from Judge Fairchild for $1 per acre. German immigrants named their new home "Fürstenwalde" which means estate of princes. Eventually, Germans were replaced by Irish Catholics as the predominant groups in the area and so the name changed to "FairVIEW". In 1836, James Wickersham donated land to be used as a public school district which included much of what is today Fairview Park. The first teacher was Mrs. Bicknell who taught until 1840 when she moved to nearby Hudsonville to take care of her children while their father served in Congress during the Mexican-American War (1846-48). After his return from Mexico, Mr. Wickersham donated more land for public schools so that they could be established throughout Mahoning County including what is now Fairview Park; this portion also includes parts of Hudsonville and part of Youngstown along with other smaller towns such as Swenzerdorf and Grangeville between 1800-1900 (the boundaries changed again when Mahoning County became organized into townships). In 1881, following annexation by Youngstown, Oldfairfield Township formed from a small section of fairfield township east of where Main Street crosses Interstate 71 on its way north to Uniontown (renamed Northside after being annexed), including much or all of what are now FairVIEW PARK properties south side OF I-71) . When it merged with Mahoning County in 1903 it retaining its name but lost some territory due south side OF I-71 known then as Highland Heights . In 1923 Trumbull Township also formed within Mahoning County but because Trumbull had no connection whatsoever with anything having to do with education or schooling (it only consisted mostlyof farmlands) they retained their old names till 1943 when finally Northwest Side Township too merged intoMahoning County proper making them once again officially known as FAIRVIEW PARK - HIGHLAND HEIGHTS . As can be expected given how data about populations has fluctuated over time there isn't any real recent information available about how many people live within FAIRVIEW PARK though most likely since 2000 it would not exceed 2K residents although 1MILIO people have lived within OHIO since application began

Fairview Park is a census-designated place in Lucas County, Ohio, United States. The population was 5,874 at the 2010 census. It lies along the Scioto River. The first people to live here were the Shawnee Indians. They built a cabin on the banks of the Scioto in 1795. A mill was built there in 1802 and became known as Fairview Mills. In 1812, John Silliman gave this area to Colonel George Washington Hill for his farmstead called Hillsboro Heights outside of Cleveland. The name Fairview Park came about because when General John Forbes invaded Ohio in 1813 and captured Cincinnati, he made an encampment at Fairfield Lake near what is today Fairview Park to avoid being surrounded by Indian villages. In 1815, Colonel Hill donated land to the state of Ohio for a university and named it Columbiana University after his daughter Columbiana (died young). In 1870 Congress passed a law giving all citizens of Ohio free access to education whenever they pleased; Columbiana University consequently changed its name to Fairview University. In 1907, Cleveland real estate developer Harry Wexler bought part of Fairview University's campus and began developing it into one of downtown's most fashionable neighborhoods with high-end homes and businesses. fairVIEW PARK was incorporated as a village on October 8th 1909 from parts of Euclid Heights on the west side of Euclid Avenue between West 125th Street and W 120th Street east side between East 124th Street and Brown Road due mostly To numerous wrangles over boundaries among other municipalities within Lucas County caused by various annexations effected during that decade by newly created townships founded primarily within Cleveland proper - such as Mentor & Woodlawn - which had annexed much older villages located within densely populated portions or rural areas lying Suffixing eastern suburbs including "Euclid", "Hillsborough" & "Summit". On March 15th 1912 following referendum results showing that more than 90% of residents voted in favor annexation into Euclid Township form which followed less than two months later designation as such by then Sovereign Mayor James Haggerty notwithstanding objections from southwestern suburban interests represented chiefly by Republican Congressman Bruce Benson who unsuccessfully opposed annexation Pursuant theretohe additional boundary adjustments resultant therefrom resulting ultimately in establishment subsequent year as an unincorporated community locally styled "FairVIEW PARK Village" even though still governed largely through local elections held annually throughout sameuniversity district thereby perpetuating thruout entire university district legal entity status quo despite continuous assertion otherwise by college officials duly authorized theretoby until finally formal revocation effective May 2nd 1974 pursuant to provisions thereof contained therein .
The Fairview Park, Ohio history began in 1796 when the city of Dayton bought 6,000 acres of land east of the Scioto River. The site was originally part of a Native American farm and had been surveyed by a group of French traders in 1763. In 1819, the United States Congress designated the area as a national park and it became part of the new United States in 1821. In 1830, construction began on what is now known asFairview Park’s first public building, an omnibus stop on the Underground Railroad. The building still stands today and is used for cultural events. In 1836, Fairview Park became home to the first municipal library in Ohio. The library was built on Ellis Street near Gatehouse Drive and opened in1837. In 1840, Dayton voters passed a resolution condemning slavery but did not pass legislation prohibiting it until after Andrew Johnson’s presidency. In 1865, Fairview Park hosted one of three inaugural ceremonies for President Abraham Lincoln during his Emancipation Proclamation tour of central America; other sites were Springfield ( Illinois) and Mexico City (Mexico). In 1886, Dayton renamed itself Cleveland after Queen Victoria's visit to Cleveland that year. In 1909, Fairview Park was renamed again – this time to honor General George Washington National Military Cemetery – following its opening as one of four national military cemeteries located in Ohio under Section 8(a) of the National Defense Actof 1920. In 1951-1952, Fairview Park underwent major renovation which included installation of new street lighting and resurfacing streets adjacent to the parkway system; also located withinFairview Park were two large live oak trees which served as ballpark markers from 1951-1970 while their branches grew back along with several smaller trees around them throughout much later years; theseARKNOWED are among notable landmarks associated withFairVIEW PARKNational Historic Landmark status
