Fairview Park is a small town in Muskingum County, Ohio, about 15 miles east of downtown Cincinnati. It is the home of Fairview Central High School and Fairview Park Golf Course. The park has a population of about 4,000 people. The first settler in what is now Fairview Park was Andrew J. Smith who moved from Kentucky in 1812. He named his land "FairVIEW" after himself and his family's farm at that location. In 1826, John Cramer bought the land from Andrew Smith and developed it into a town called "Cincinnati". The first post office was established at FairVIEW in 1830. In 1841, when Cincinnati became an incorporated city, FairVIEW became part of that city's boundaries and remained so until its annexation by Cincinnati in 1907. In 1911 the fairgrounds were donated to the town for use as a public park which remains today one of its most popular attractions with more than 2 million visitors annually! The golf course was donated to the town by Orville Wright in 1923 and continues to be used today as one of Muskingum County's premier courses! The community aroundFairVIEW began to grow rapidly following World War II as many soldiers relocated here from out-of-state military camps or returned home on leave after serving their country during that time period. Many businesses and individuals decided to move here after the war ended; this growth continued into the postwar years with some new construction being done such as 1st National Bank building (the only bank at that time) built in 1951 on what is now Riverfront Drive near Centerx mall! Many residents who had grown tired of living close to downtown came downriver for shopping during prohibition era while others settled Hereafters along I-75/US-27 highway just north of fairpark

Fairview Park is a census-designated place (CDP) in Defiance County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Akron–Muncy, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The CDP was named after Captain John FairVIEW who surveyors located it in 1795 and 1814. The Captain's heirs donated land to the township in 1836. In 1870 FairVIEW School opened as the first public school in Defiance Township which also included Fairview Heights and other unincorporated areas. In 1911 FairVIEW Park became a city park with its own city government and police force while still being under township control. The original park plat includes many of today's streets including Third Avenue and Elm Street which are now within the limits of Fairview Heights proper. In 1937Fairview Park joined forces with Prospect Heights to form Prospect Heights-Fairview Park Municipal Authority which still operates today as one of Defiance Township's most important civic organizations with responsibilities such as zoning and development oversight for both neighborhoods together as well as providing daycare, senior center, parks and open space for residents living within their boundaries According to the 2010 US Census there were 1,898 people residing in the CDP: 919 households (68% family households), 727 housing units (24% owner-occupied, 21% rented), and 0 nonfamily dwellings (.02%). Hispanic or Latinoorigin made up 13% of all respondents while white alone accounted for 88%. African American residents made up 2%.
