In 1836, Matthias Hesseltine purchased 640 acres (2 km²) of land east of present-day Main Street which he designated as "Hesslein's Prairie". He named it after his brother Johann Friedrich Hesslein who had settled near by about two years earlier. After selling his interest in Hesslein's Prairie, Hesseltine devoted himself to agricultural pursuits and died childless at age 72 in 1840. His widow continued farm operations until her death in 1865; during her time there were also several residences constructed on property now within Fairview Park limits: Mrs Hesseltine's home (1835), Mr Pemberton's house (1844), Dr Hillyer's home (1851), Mrs Beecham's house (1862). The town square was renamed Market Square after Mayor Samuel Copley's donation of $1,000 for that purpose. During the late 1800s and early 1900s, Fairview Park underwent significant growth due to its location near railways and other transportation options. In 1902-03, construction began on Station Road (later known as Division Street) which connected the towns of Muskingum and Uniontown; this development created an important trade corridor that helped drive growth throughout much of rural Muskingum County during this time period. In 1945-46,Fairview Park became home to one of World War II's largest concentration camps for Japanese Americans located within easy walking distance of downtown FairVIEW PARK!

However, most of what is now FairVIEW PARK was rebuilt using Federal funds during the early years following World War II as part of the Cleveland Renaissance program - including creating or refurbishing many parks across downtown Cleveland. One notable feature that has not disappeared since its original construction is 1923’s George Washington Carver Fountain located at endsowment Square in fairway center which features landscaping by renowned landscape architect Iacono Romeo returned back to nature after being artificially restored in 2000-2001
