Fairborn is a small town in central Ohio, located on the Scioto River. The population was 5,564 at the 2010 census. It lies within the Scioto County seat of Lima. The first settler in what is now Fairborn was Nicholas Kline, who arrived in 1797. He built a log cabin on the west bank of the Scioto River and called his place "Turkey Point". In 1814, John Ewing purchased from Nicholas Kline a tract of land including Turkey Point and began to build a house there. He named his home "Ewing's Grove". In 1821, Fairborn became part of Athens Township. In 1824, Anthony Giddings donated land to form Scioto Township. The first post office opened in Fairborn in 1830. By 1840, there were 14 residents living in Fairborn proper and 7 residents living on Indian Creek upstream of it. When Athens Township merged with Lima Township to form Lima-Fairborn township effective February 1st 1846, only 4 residents lived Downtown (now known as Parkersburg) - 3 men and one woman - while 10 people lived on Indian Creek upstream from it In 1850, after much discussion among trustees about whether or not to open up business along Elm Street between High Street and Canal Street because of lack of space for stores downtown (the street had been widened by then), citizens voted not to open up business along Elm Street but rather stay closed off that stretch so that businesses could be built closer to Main Street which would provide more space for them With this decision made by the township boardroom, business boomed along ElmStreet between High & Canal Streets beginning around 1850 when merchants realized they could indeed sell products without having their customers drive out into Euclid Heights

It remained part of Ohio until 1803 when it became a part of Indiana Territory. In 1809, President James K. Polk sent troops to Fort Dearborn to protect American vessels trading with China against Japaneseattackers. This event led to the annexation of Michigan by Japan as well as other events during World War II
Fairborn, Ohio is an unincorporated community in Columbiana County, Ohio, United States. The population was 907 at the 2010 census.
