In 1867, the company moved its manufacturing to a new location in Fairborn. The new factory was designed for producing high-quality rifles and shotguns. It was here that John Browning started his rifle production business in 1903. After World War I, the economy crashed, and gun companies went bankrupt. However, John Browning managed to keep his business afloat with help from government assistance. From 1923 to 1934, he also produced a shotgun called the Ruger Model 10/22 which became very popular among hunters and target shooters. During this time period, Colt also produced revolvers under license from other manufacturers such as Remington Arms Company and Winchester Repeating Arms Company.In 1951, John Browning died of a heart attack at the age of 83 years old; however, his legacy is still alive today with many companies continuing to produce firearms using his designs or innovations

Fairborn is a town in Muskingum County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,856 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area. The first settler in what is now Fairborn was Levi Coffin in 1813. The first post office was established here on July 4, 1824. A mill known as the "Cotton Mill" was built by John Ladd in 1825 and later became part of the Lancaster Brewing Company. In 1830, Joshua Beal founded a store and bakery called Beal's store and bakery on Main Street near today's corner of Washington Avenue and State Route 711. In 1835, Andrew Jenson platted what is now Fairborn Township on land that he had bought from Solomon Gaylord. However, this township did not take form until 1840 when it was named for Moses Fairborn (1792-1857), an early settler who farmed in this area and served as justice of peace here from 1840 to his death in 1857. In 1850, Daniel Fenton purchased 640 acres (248 hectares) adjacent toFairborn Township from John Dickey for $5 per acre ($40 per hectare). This purchase added much-needed open space to this community which had been growing rapidly due to its location at the head of Muskingum Creek between two mountain ranges (). In 1860–61, James Hinton built a gristmill on White River just north of today's intersection of Washington Avenue and State Route 711; it later became known as Harlan Grist & Mill No. 2 (). That same year also saw the founding of the town board by five residents: Hiram Smith (founder/manager of First National Bank), Ebenezer Iverson (member/manager of Atlantic Mills Company), Isaac Brown (president American Can Mfg Co.), William Eldredge (founder/managerof Masonic Lodge #2) and George Prentice (owner/managerof GAS Oil Refinery). In 1862–63 Franklin Bogue philanthropic donated $10 000 to create a library complex within what are now eastern parts of Fairborn Township () while Mayor David Hervey organized an election for school trustees which resulted in Amos Eaton being chosen as trustee effective January 1st 1863,. At that time there were only one elementary school – taught by Mrs Ethel Carleton – along with six stores serving about 350 residents with 1A Post Office located east block south on High Street (). Bogue also contributed another $10 000 towards construction of three large churches – First Baptist Church (), Methodist Episcopal Church () and Congregational Church (); these churches were dedicated December 12th 1865 (). One hundred years lateron November 6th 2016 local resident Rick Cline made history by becoming our first “Mayor Elect” ever!

Fairborn is a town in Carroll County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,745 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland–Akron–Canton, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers in Fairborn were two brothers, John and Nicholas Fairborn, who arrived in 1795 from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. They built a log cabin on the east side of the Scioto River and named it "Fairborn". In 1801 they moved to their current location on the west side of the river. The Log Cabin House still stands as one of Fairborn's most famous landmarks. In 1812 Daniel Boone founded a trading post here called "Boone's Ferry". He named it after himself because he had been instrumental in helping to found Cincinnati, Ohio. After Boone's death in 1813 his post was taken over by Ephraim Marsh and renamed "Masonville" after himself and his wife Anna Mason (1769-1846). This name continued to be used until 1830 when it was changed back to "Fairborn". In 1830 John Ladd opened a store here that became known as the "Ladd Store." It operated until about 1840 when it burned down due to an accidental fire. A new store was built near this spot by contractor William Stroud during 1840-1841. The old Ladd Store building still stands today within walking distance of Fairborn's downtown area. During this time also some other stores followed suit such as Hagerty & Co., which operated from about 1861 until 1912; Wm Biddle & Sons, which started business in 1865; Gresham Brothers Clothing Store which opened its doors on October 4th 1865; Smeed Bros., Grocery Merchants starting business February 6th 1870; Piggly Wiggles Drugstore opens November 1st 1870 inside what is now Veterans Memorial Hospital across First National Bank Building lot from Post Office

The town of Fairborn, Ohio was founded in 1795 by the brothers John and Peter Fairborn. The town was named after George Washington's home state of Virginia. The population of Fairborn increased rapidly due to its location on the Great Lakes region, and by 1815 it had reached 1,600 residents. In 1824, the town became a part of the new United States.
