Englewood is a community in the United States located in the Northwest Ohio region. The population was 5,824 at the 2010 census. Hays married Anne into an early family of settlers and their children began moving to present-day Englewood from 1810 to 1830. By 1840 there were over 50 families living in what would become Englewood. In 1846, De Witt Clinton founded Clinton County and named it after himself, distinguishing it from other counties in Ohio that had been established by Ulysses S. Grant during the Mexican War (1846-48). During the late 1800s and early 1900s, Englewood underwent several waves of growth as a result of its location as an important railway junction and manufacturing center for products such as textiles, shoes, automobiles, aircraft parts and munitions. Steel production also became widespread thanks to then-new technology called “catalytic converters” which allowed steel plants to produce high levels of heat without using dangerous coke ovens or open fires. However, during World War II many residents fled Nazi Germany due to bombings which destroyed their homes and businesses; this led to a decline in population throughout most of America during that war. However, because Englewood was not ravaged by fighting like other areas within Greater Cleveland area – including Euclid Heights – it slowly regained its population following the war with new immigrants coming from Europe and Asia who desired quality lives close to employment opportunities and universities (the University of Akron was founded here in 1913). Today there are more than 10K people living within walking distance of each other inside city limits while still experiencing significant poverty rates despite having some of the highest per capita incomes within Greater Cleveland area (excluding Euclid Heights). Englewood, Ohio is a small town in central Ohio located on the banks of the Cuyahoga River. The population was 2,819 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland-Akron-Canton, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was first settled by Potawatomi Indians in 1795. The first post office was established in 1809 and the name Englewood came about because of a grant from General James Wilkinson to John Engle for land west of Londontown Creek on Lake Erie. In 1814, Daniel Webster moved his family to Englewood from Watertown, Massachusetts due to religious persecution there. In 1818, George Rogers Clark and his forces invaded this area during the War of 1812 and destroyed much of what is now Englewood Township while conquering most of present day Lucas County. The town was plundered by General Wayne as he marched through it on his way to battle with British troops near Cleveland that year. English settlers began arriving in significant numbers after this event and by 1830 hadzhen populated over one thousand people here according to one source; however other sources place the number higher than 1000 people due to lack of documentation or verification. As settlement increased and infrastructure developed throughout what is now Lucas County, Englewood slowly lost its importance until it ceased existin 1975 when all but two blocks were annexed into Perrysburg Township (now Lyndhurst). The early residents were farmers who grew corn, peas and beans, hops, apples and other vegetables for local markets; they also raised livestock such as horses and hogs which provided services such as transportation across Cuyahoga County for goods brought downriver byboats filled with timber shipment from mills in Summit City or Elyria; these transportation concerns are commemorated along Third Street which runs parallel to I-675 just south of Center Road where a large old mill once stood.; later residents worked at various manufacturing plants located in nearby Berea or Sandusky before returning home again to spend their winters farming cotton or fishing in Lake Erie’s Great Lakes region; these same activities continue today as many locals still visit Chambersburg or Youngstown for shopping trips during retail season With rapid growth associated with World War II following America’s entry into war on December 7th 1941 – including an increase in employment opportunities within the munitions industry – Englewood experienced an explosion in population that reached 516 residents by 1945 when Census records reflect only 397 individuals residing here effective January 1st that year A new high school was opened herefollowing plans drawn up by then Superintendent Marshall Wirthlin Jr., superintendent emeritus at Western Reserve University – then based recently in Euclid – which would eventually become Regent University School District #1 . Growth continued through 1970s when numerous subdivisions developed including “the greenfield” areas adjacent our riverbanks containing few homes constructed prior thereto while older neighborhoods bordering waterways gentrified ; nevertheless some aspects associated with earlier times remain like a lively downtown street market which draws shoppers several days per week; today’s businesses include restaurants/cafes/bars/taverns catering mostlyto tourists as well as smaller businesses involved principallyin agriculture / agroforestry /processing industries
On May 7, 1827, Englewood was founded by John C. Engle and James W. Dyer. The town was named for theEnglewood Forest in Philadelphia. In 1828, the first school was built in the town and in 1830, the first post office opened. The town's first sawmill opened in 1833 and its first store in 1834. A Methodist church was built in 1840 and a Masonic Lodge was chartered in 1850. The population of Englewood peaked at 2,500 in 1860 but declined to 1,500 by 1870. However, due to increased manufacturing activity near Cleveland, production grew again until 1890 when it reached 5,000 jobs. By 1900, however, it had shrunk to 1,000 residents due to new housing construction around Cleveland while industry continued to decline throughout most of the 20th century until it disappeared altogether during World War II as part of the war effort against Japan
