In 1915, when Englewood residents voted on new zoning laws which would allow them to start building their own schools – including gun ranges within their boundaries – they also decided to build a "Gun Range School." This school offered classes on how to use Guns safely and effectively for both personal defense and competitive shooting purposes. The Gun Range School remains active today and offers classes on all things related toGun Shooting! It wasn't until 1978 when Englewood finally got its own municipal golf course! This course has since become one of the most popular in town with locals and visitors alike enjoying rounds OF varying distances (from easy red tees up through some incredibly challenging par 5s!) over lunchtime or while watching live championship matches on site. The growth of industry during this period caused many factories to locate along the Cuyahoga River – including ten woodruff mills between 1836 and 1840 – while rapid population growth led to increased housing demand as well as an increase in traffic congestion on main streets leading into downtown areas such as City Hall square or State Park featuring natural beauty beyond description. During periods of economic boom or bust throughout its history; however, no real change took place until 1907 when streetcars started service between Englewood Heights Mall on the east side of town and downtown Cleveland giving people more opportunities for day-to-day activities not just visiting business districts like earlier generations did; which then lead to even more business development around central square during late 19th century followed by post WWI era when things calmed down again but own residential districts continued expanding due to weak job market & lack of investment
On July 4, 1814, Englewood was founded as a small village in the Scioto Valley by five families of Quaker refugees from Pennsylvania. The first settler, Amos Stevens, built a cabin on the banks of the Scioto River. In 1825, the village had six residents and seven businesses. On November 3, 1830, Englewood became a town when it merged with neighboring Union Township. In 1839, Englewood had 24 residents and 36 businesses. On October 1 of that year it received its own post office which served until 1861.During the Civil War, Englewood sided with the Union side and lost much of its commerical activity to Cincinnati due to trade restrictions placed by President Abraham Lincoln. After the war ended in 1865, Englewood experienced rapid growth as an agricultural center due to increased production of corn and other crops growing on land newly freed from slavery. The population peaked at over 300 in 1870 but declined to about 180 by 1880 due to factors such as high taxes and poor infrastructure development during this time period
