Gun lasers were first developed in Englewood, Ohio in the early 1970s. At that time, gun lasers were still a relatively new technology and there was not yet a lot of information available about them. In order to research gun laser technology, Gun Laser Technology Inc. (GLT) began collecting data on different types of guns and their functionality. This data helped GLT develop the first gun lasers for use with handguns. In 1976, GLT released the original Glock handgun laser. The Glock handgun laser was designed to be easy to use and it allowed shooters to fire projectiles through the weapon's sights without having to learn how to use a traditional sight system. The Glock handgun laser was also very accurate and could shoot projectiles at up to 350 meters away from the shooter. The Glock handgun laser continued to be used by law enforcement officers and EASA air traffic controllers throughout the 1990s and 2000s. However, due to its popularity among these groups, GLT decided not to continue development of the Glock handgun laser after the release of its successor – the Glocks 19/22 pistol laser.

In 1840, John Minton opened a tannery on West Side Highway near present-day Englewood Cemetery. By 1861, there were more than 100 residents living inEnglewood Township. Growth continued throughout the 19th century with waves of immigrants coming to America: Germans (1810–30), Irish (1830–60), Italians ( 1860–1920), Poles (1920–40), Slovaks (1940–50), Koreans (1950s). During World War II, Englewood became one of several thousand American communities that took part in 1942's "War against Want". The city committed to providing food for 2 million Americans who were not able to find it on their own; it also participated in distributing materials such as gasoline, tires and toolboxes across America during the war effort. Afterward, many businesses closed or moved away as technology changed and competition increased from online shopping and home delivery services like Amazon Prime

The first Englewood settlers were men and children who had Removalist sympathies. They left Kentucky for what they thought was freedom and opportunity in Ohio - only to find themselves living in conditions much like those they were fleeing from. Many died during the journey or during the hardships that followed their arrival. However, there were also some Englewood residents who did not flee to escape indentured servitude but rather found their new home because of its strategic location on the frontier of what was then America. The town was named after Colonel John Mason (1724-1802), a military officer who served as governor of Virginia from 1785 to 1792 and later served as secretary of state under George Washington. A year before his death, Mason donated land near Englewood for a courthouse and school district. In 1801, he again contributed to help build an infrastructure for the town including a jail, post office, storehouse and millstream which still flows through the center today

In 1813, Englewood was founded byJoshua Engle and his family. The town quickly became a thriving community with a population of around 100 people. In 1838, Englewood became the first city in Ohio to be incorporated. The city's growth continued throughout the years and it reached its peak in the 1860s with a population of over 1,000 people. However, during the late 1800s and early 1900s, Englewood experienced significant decline as it lost its status as an important metropolis. Today,Englewood is still an important community with a population of around 100 people.
