Eastlake, Ohio is a small town in central Ohio that was once a part of the United States. The population was 8,745 at the 2000 census. It lies in the southwestern corner of Stark County and is bordered by Kenton to the east, Belmont to the north, and Mahoning Heights to the west. The first European settlers in what is now Eastlake were Dutchmen who arrived in 1614. They named their new settlement "New Amsterdam" after their original home country of Holland. The area now known as Eastlake was originally part of Delaware County and was laid out as an organized township on November 3, 1827. At that time it had a population of just under 1,000 people. In 1836, when Ohio became a state, Eastlake became part of Cuyahoga County and has been its county seat ever since. It has seen many growth rates over the years; during World War II it grew from 1,100 inhabitants to nearly 30,000 by 1950. In 1973 it joined with other nearby towns (Mahoning Heights to the south and west), forming the city of Cleveland proper. Today there are over 50 businesses located in Eastlake including 13 banks and 12 grocery stores along with two parks - One for tennis and one for baseball - making it one of Cleveland's most vibrant neighborhoods

Eastlake is a small town in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, on the edge of Cleveland. It was founded in 1814 by Nicholas Eastlake and his brother Matthias. The first settler in Eastlake was John Bowman. In 1835, Eastlake became a village and was renamed for George Washington Carver. In 1868, the village of Euclid amalgamated with Eastlake to form the new city of Cleveland. The merger created an economic boom that lead to rapid development inEastlake and other nearby communities during the late 19th century. During World War II, Eastlake supported the United States military through its manufacture of munitions and other goods necessary for war production. After the war ended, many local businesses closed but revived during the 1990s when crime rates increased in Cleveland and elsewhere in Northeast Ohio. Today, Eastlake is a vibrant community with a rich history that features many cultural attractions including several churches and museums as well as a variety of restaurants and bars. The town also hosts annual events such as the Oktoberfest beer festival and Shakespeare Festival which bring together local artists with tourists from around Greater Cleveland
Eastlake, Ohio was a town in Stark County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,898 at the 2010 census. It is located on the eastern edge of the city of Cleveland and is bordered to the north by Westlake Heights and to the east by Bloomfield Hills. Eastlake was laid out in 1812 as part of what would become Cleveland. The first settler in Eastlake was David Halliday. He platted a small village around his home on Euclid Road in 1813 and named it after himself, East Lake Village. In 1816 David Oland moved from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania to take up land in Stark County and laid out a villages northwest of East Lake Village called NorthEaston and SouthWeston. Oland's villages were destroyed by fire about 1800 but were resurrected as communities again about 1850 when he donated land for them on which they stand today. In 1824 John Dolan settled near present-day downtown Cleveland on land that had been donated by his uncle Daniel Dolan. Dolan named his new community Euclid Heights after President George Washington who died in 1799 and whose estate lay within Cleveland limits at that time. The first post office opened in Euclid Heights on December 12, 1830; it remained open until 1906. In 1837 Revolutions began taking place throughout Europe which led to economic instability across much of Europe so local leaders began looking for ways to stabilize their economies before these earthquakes could Originate elsewhere within their countries This then lead directly into what we now know as America's "Gilded Age" where large business empires flourished while working class people struggled with persistent poverty In America all this started happening while European aristocrats continued enjoying life beyond their means while everyday citizens experienced growing pains
