Gun targets have been a part of East Liverpool, Ohio's history for over 100 years. At one time, they were used to help shooters aim their firearms. Today, these targets are still popular and enjoyed by people of all ages. The first target was created in 1884 by P.J. Fenton and W.J. Haughey at the home of Jno. Breen in the Olde Towne area of the city. The target was made from a piece of metal that had been cut into thin strips and then nailed to a post with several iron staples through it. In 1897, T & R Milling Company began making gun targets in East Liverpool using an innovative design called the “Tower” Target which resembled a modern building or skyscraper with its prominent peak-like features (Figure 1). The Tower Target became well-known throughout eastern Ohio due to its unique appearance and ability to provide accurate shooting positions for users who were lucky enough to own one (Figure 2). During World War I, gun manufacturers turned their attention away from traditional target production and instead developed new types of ammunition that required special targets designed specifically for this purpose ( Figure 3 ). For example, Winchester introduced their bolt action rifle in 1915 which necessitated new target designs that could be produced safely and efficiently using large steel circles as opposed to individual thin strips or nails ( Figure 4 ). Consequently,gun manufacturers turned their attention once again towards traditional target production during World War II –albeit at a much slower pace than during World War I due to changes within the military itself ( Figure 5 ). This change can be partially attributed to wartime rationing which caused many companies to reduce manufacturing activitiesrather than investing in new products; however,gun manufacturers did continue development of traditionaltarget models throughout World War II After the end of World War II there continued significant technological advances within the firearms industry; however, Traditional Gun Targets languished until the late 1980s when new technologies such as electronic triggers finally allowed hobbyists and experts aliketo produce high quality targets without having any dedicated workshop space Today’s market demand for traditionaltarget manufacture is dictated by numerous factors including increased interest in hunting/fishingvideos gamesand social media interactions where people want realistic weapon fire displays As long as shooters remain skillful with their firearms they are able to produce high quality Traditional Targets that will continue providing enjoyment for years to come

East Liverpool, Ohio is a town in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. The population was 21,564 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Akron-Canton-Muncie Metropolitan Statistical Area. East Liverpool was founded in 1814 by six Englishmen who had come to America on the ship "Mayflower". The town grew quickly and was renamed East Liverpool in 1828 after its location on a fork of the Little Miami River. In 1836, the town became an incorporated village and later became a city until it merged withAkron in 1907. The first settlers in what is now East Liverpool were men from Somerset, England who had come overland to America aboard the "Diligence" in 1797. They built a log cabin near where they now live on Edgefield Road. By 1800, there were about 25 people living here. The first school was established in this cabin by Reverend John Kirkpatrick and his students from nearby Canonsburg Academy. By 1810, there were 10 families living here and 3 churches serving this area: one Protestant (Fenziger’s Baptist Church), one Roman Catholic (St Dominic’s Parish), and one Presbyterian (First Presbyterian Church). In 1814, six Englishmen--John Daynes*, Daniel Dennison*, James Hays*--came overland from Lancaster County to start a new life in America. They traveled downriver until they reached the forks of the Little Miami River where they decided to stay on one side for fear that their boat would be lost at sea again if they went upstream. From this decision arose East Liverpool which began emerging as an early commercial center because it could provide goods necessary for growing crops such as corn and wheat without having to go through Philadelphia or Baltimore which would have been expensive to transport these itemsrought back by ocean voyages In 1830, when William Holmes opened up Holmes Tire & Rubber Works on current day Springboro Boulevard he became one of East Liverpool's earliest entrepreneurs Holmes brought his tire manufacturing skills backpacking across North America during World War I when US military vehicles needed new tires before leaving for Europe After World War II ended American Tire Corporation bought out Holmes Tire & Rubber Works and continued production until 1984 when it closed completely due to competition from imported products In 1960 Dick DeVos purchased Wernham Hogg Paper Company from Wernham Hogg Paper Company's parent company Southern Union Gas Co., making Dick DeVos owner of both American Paper Industries Incorporated (API) - provider of newsprint products including political papers such as newspapers throughout Eastern Europe -and Wernham Hogg Paper Company - manufacturer of high quality paper products for everyday use within the United States .American Paper Industries Incorporated ceased operations effective December 31st 2002 while Wernham Hogg Paper Company continuing operations under name American Hemispheric PapersIncorporation between November 1st 2003 and September 30th 2006
East Liverpool was founded in 1796 as a small village on the east side of the Cuyahoga River. The village grew rapidly during the 1800s, and by 1854 it had become an incorporated town. The town developed a strong economy, hosting many heavy industry sites such as a steel mill and chemical plant. The town also saw considerable growth in its population, reaching almost 100,000 by 1915. However, during World War II East Liverpool experienced significant destruction due to the bombing of Pearl Harbor. In 1946 the town became part of Cleveland County and has since seen slight increases in population but little economic development.
