It is part of the Dayton–Cincinnati metropolitan area and is located on the east bank of the Cuyahoga River. The name "East Liverpool" was given to this town by General George Washington in 1792 when he visited this location during his expedition against the French and their allies in Canada. The small village then located here, just acrossriver from today's city of Cleveland, grew rapidly due to its location near commerce and transportation connections on the Cuyahoga River. In 1814, East Liverpool became a port town with a wharf on the river where goods could be unloaded for shipment downstream to other points in central Ohio or west to Michigan Territory. By 1870, East Liverpool had become one of Dayton's largest towns with over 40 businesses along Main Street alone! In 1875, an Act of Congress designated East Liverpool as site for what would soon become one of America's most important industrial cities - East Liverpool Rubber Company! This company played an instrumental role in helping shape American industry through its establishment of mills and production plants which produced rubber products such as tires and shoes for use on locomotives and automobiles. Over time, all but two (the last being closed down by Chiquita Brands International in 1985) of these plants were closed or mothballed due to plant closings due to economic recession; however, they remain some of America’s most significant historic factories and are now open as museum attractions! Today, much like during our early days as a community hereabouts...a diversityof activity prevails within our walls...employment opportunities abound...retail outlets abound...and life goes onward just fine!

East Liverpool is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Lucas County. The population was 27,812 at the 2010 census, making it the 11th-largest city in Lucas County and the second-largest in Ohio after Cleveland. The first permanent settler in what is now East Liverpool was Isaac Asbury, who arrived on a group of pioneers led by George Rogers Clark during the American Revolutionary War. He built himself a log cabin on what is now Asbury Park Shoreline Drive in 1792. In 1814, when East Liverpool was founded as an unincorporated village, its first postmaster was Samuel Cope. It became a town in 1821 when it merged with neighbouring Fairfield Township to form the new township of East Liverpool. In 1907, John Denny founded Dayton Brewery which became one of America's largest breweries and remains headquartered there today. The city also began developing its downtown area into an attractive commercial centre; this included such landmarks as the old tower on High Street (now home to Eastern Market), Riggs Drug Store (now part of Quicken Loans Arena), and Race's grocery store (now Macy's). In 1912, East Liverpool annexed much of Medina Township including parts of both Mentor and Wauseon townships to create a new municipality that would remain its nucleus until 1959 when it split off into its current form as part of larger changes within Lucas County caused by annexation by Cincinnati proper. Today, East Liverpool is one of America's most vibrant cities with over 30 businesses operating in Downtown while also featuring active nightlife venues like The Beatbox Lounge and Joe’s All-American Bar & Grill - two blocks from where Columbus Circle meets Fifth Avenue - as well as several excellent public schools including Central Catholic School District #1A which offers bilingual instruction for immigrants livinginthecityand dual enrollment for native students; among others! In addition to all this activity there are numerous cultural events taking place throughout each year ranging from art shows at local galleries to music concerts at local pit lairs or ballroom halls – always exciting for residents and visitors alike!
