Today all remaining assets of American Opticals are divided between Adorama Inc., a technology services company based out of Bellevue Washington County; Brocade Technology Solutions LLC., a materials science company based out of Canton OH; USO/USA Partnerships Eastern Ohio Sales Inc., which manages trading operations for all three divisions; Chubb Corp.'s Ocular Technologies division which manufactures eye pieces for use by surgeons; among others - making it one ofAmerica's most complex corporate ownership structures (Langston 2001). East Cleveland is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Cuyahoga County. The population was 61,711 at the 2010 census, making it the fourth-most populous city in Cuyahoga County. The city is located on the shores of Lake Erie, about 20 miles (32 km) east of Cleveland and 25 miles (40 km) west of Akron. The area that now becomes East Cleveland was part of the Muskegon Heights Indian Nation until 1792 when Great Britain ceded all of what are now Michigan and Ohio to France as part of the Treaty Of Paris following its victory in battle at Fallen Timbers. The town was platted in 1814 by Jabez Ford and James Purdy as "East Cleveland", after receiving land grants from US President James K. Polk during his presidency years as a Senator from OH. East Cleveland became an incorporated municipality on March 12, 1825. On December 22, 1920, during World War I, local troops led by Colonel George Thorpe raided German munitions dumps near Cherry Point in what is known today as Battle Creek Township; most were destroyed but some caused damage to nearby homes which helped lead to increased military activity along the border between US and Germany starting in 1919 In 1921–22, Hindu refugees from India settled in what would become East Cleveland; they brought with them their religion and their dietary practices which clashed with those practiced within adjacent Muskegon Heights community where many residents were Protestant Methodists The first African American to live permanently in East Cleveland was Harry Washington who moved into a house on Euclid Avenue on November 6th 1924 In 1925 candidate for Mayor John Rhea ran against incumbent Grover Norris; he lost but he gained national notoriety due to a series of public stunts such as selling advertising time on his car for $100 per hour outside Norris' office while he was inside trying to sell voter registration forms In 1928 Muhlenberg College graduate Roy Wilkins bought 1/2 acre (0·8 ha) lot behindOlde English Baptist Church downtown for $10 () He began developing it into Wilkins Park which would later become one of America's first green areas .
