In 1892, American Armory Corporation began production of revolvers in East Cleveland. East Cleveland is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio, located on the eastern shore of Lake Erie. As of the 2010 census, it had a population of 97,269. The city was founded in 1814 by General David Dixon as an outpost on the then-new international border between Canada and the United States. East Cleveland is part of Cleveland–Akron Metropolitan Statistical Area, which has a total population of 2,055,691 according to the 2010 US Census. The land that would become East Cleveland was first traded between Native American nations and European settlers in what is now central Ohio during the 17th century prior to its purchase by George Westenra from the Wyandot tribe in 1681. In 1814, General David Dixon founded East Cleveland after purchasing 640 acres (2 km²) from John Cook for $5$. He named it for his home town of Colchester in England – once one of largest towns in Great Britain – due to its location on the International Boundary Line between Canada and America. The new town quickly grew into a thriving center for trade with both Canada and America; it became known as "the Gateway City" because it served as both a commercial center for North America and as a point where travelers could disembark before continuing their journey southward through Ohio into Illinois or Missouri. In 1825, when voting districts were established within Ohio based on congressional district boundaries then being used under President James K Polk's gerrymandering scheme, East Cleveland was placed within newly created District 1 (based largely around downtown Cincinnati). However, due to rapidly growing populations throughout all of Ohio during this time period – especially along river valleys such as those lying east and west of downtown Cincinnati – District 1 was soon reworked into four additional districts: 2nd ( centered around University Heights), 3rd ( near FirstEnergy Stadiums & Case Western Reserve University), 4th ( northwest suburban neighborhoods surrounding Independence Mall) and 5th ( southwestern suburbs adjacent to Fairfield County Airport). Consequently, much like today's Greater Cleveland Metropolitan area does not have one specific district represented within its borders solely because its residents span multiple counties/townships/villages within those regions; instead, each individual township or village forms its own individual ward or councilmember representation within that same metropolitan area’s governing body called an “ empowerment zone” which revolves around economic development goals & objectives related thereto while also honoring cultural heritage mandates quo warranto among other things…. effectively resulting in some residents living primarily close to jobsites while others reside quite some distance away from any major services or amenities… nevertheless these areas continue to experience high levels of economic activity & growth thereby creating myriad opportunities for residents who are willing (& able)to work hard….. even if they do live quite far away from their core community….. overall we believe our situation here compared to say similar municipalities across AMERICA would be considered “extremely competitive” given today’s technological advancements etc etc etc…… Today's East Cleveland traces its roots back over 200 years ago when GeneralDavid Dixon founded this city on land purchased from John Cook at $5 per acre! The original founders built homes here today including: Dixons House - now known as Pioneer Park Mrs Wright's Tavern - still standing today next door to Boren Stadium just off route 66 Mr Fenton's Store - now known as Eastern Market Mrs Haggerty's Restaurant - another local landmark still open today
