East Cleveland, Ohio is home to one of the largest firearm retailers in the United States. This location has been selling firearms since 1842 and has a rich history with gun sales. One of the most well-known dealers here is The Rifle House, which was founded in 1892 by Johnnie Ray and his brother-in-law, Amos Peck. In 1937, The Rifle House became part of Brownells Inc., which is now the world’s largest firearms retailer. The Pistolero Shop opened its doors in 1916 in what was then a small business on Euclid Avenue in East Cleveland. It quickly became known as one of the leading pistol stores in America due to its wide selection of handguns and ammunition. In 1949, Pistolero merged with Bob Schieffer & Sons Firearms Inc., which would become one of the most influential gun dealers in America. Pistolero closed its doors for good in 1984 but it still remains an important part of East Cleveland’s history with firearm sales. Today, Pistolero’s legacy lives on through their online store and museum located inside the company’s old building on North Market Street.

East Cleveland is a city in Ohio, United States. The population was 508 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland-Akron-Canton, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area now considered East Cleveland was settled by the Mahoning Valley culture in the late Pleistocene period. The first European to see it was Giovanni da Verrazzano in 1524 and he named it "Verrazzano's village" after him. It lay on the then-useless and current site of downtown Akron. In 1814, when Ohio became a state, East Cleveland became its capital as well as its seat of government. In 1827, much of what is now east side of town was taken over by a new township called Clinton that included parts of central and northern Akron as well as many small towns west of I‑95 (now US 36). The town boundaries changed again in 1836 when Clinton merged with another township, Muskegon Heights, to create what is now east side of town once again including most parts north and west of I‑95 (now US 36). What formed today's eastern edge of town started out as several small farms along the Scioto River which fed into larger communities to the south and east; these days most people remember those earlier settlements only because they are located near present day campuses for Case Western Reserve University and Oakland University. In 1868, local settler John Crampton developed what would become known as "the mills". They were built on an abandoned lake behind present day Union High School on Cedar Point Drive NW. At their peak production some 400 workers used them alone to produce flour, paper products, cattle feed and other items for local consumers including export to Europe. After years producing mostly commodities rather than manufactures until around 1930 when demand for manufactured goods began to increase there were also large volumes produced in dyeing plants such as those at Cedar Point until about 1970s While smaller mills closed during this time there are still many traces left from early industry including gristmills/flour elevators that once stood adjacent to each other along Cedar Point Dr., two blast furnaces still standing today inside Union High School - one dating back to 1865 which had six boilers each capable producing up to 12 tons/minute! There are also three dams remnants remaining from prior water systems: Old Mill Dam on West Side Road just outside Union High School; Second dam on South Main Street just south ofpresent day I‑75; while Third dam has been removed completely nearby but remains visible from intersection between Elmhurst Rd./South Main St.–just past Case Western Reserve Univ.–and Greenbelt Rd., northeast corner of Apollo Park neighborhood EAST CLEVELAND BUSINESS INFORMATION SYSTEM

Today, East Cleveland is an economically vibrant community with a rich history that has been shaped by its location on one of America's most important transportation corridors. From its origins as a small farming community to becoming an important industrial center during World War II, east cleveland has experienced many changes over time – but it always remains an active part of Ohio's cultural landscape
East Cleveland was founded in 1836 as a town in the now-defunct Sandusky County. The first settlers were Irishmen, and the town became an important center for trade and commerce. It grew quickly, and by 1840 it had a population of over 1,000 people. In 1846, East Cleveland inaugurated its own government, which was eventually replaced by the Township Government system. In 1868, the town reached its peak population size with 2,500 people; however, this number dropped rapidly in the next few years due to economic recession. By 1880, East Cleveland had decreased to just 100 people; however, it continued to grow steadily until it reached its current size of around 15,000 residents in 1912. However, rapid growth also led to some problems: in 1916 East Cleveland experienced one of the worst industrial accidents in U.S history when a munitions plant operated by Bethlehem Steel collapsed; however, no human fatalities resulted from this accident. The townsfolk continue to make their voice heard through various forms of community activism such as voting rights campaigns and civil rights organizing efforts throughout the years. In recent decades there have been mixed results with regards to gentrification - while some areas have seen increased development presence (such as Clarkson Avenue), others (such as eastern part of town) remain largely affordability-based corridors for wealthier residents only.
