Bullets have been a part of East Cleveland, Ohio's history for many years. The first bullets were created in 1852 when the U.S. Rifle Association began producing firearms that used ballistics technology to fire projectiles from stocks. Bullets continue to be a popular choice for firearm ammunition and are still in use today. In 1868, the first fatal shooting involving bullets occurred in East Cleveland when two men were killed after exchanging gunfire at a local dance hall. This event was followed by other shootings throughout the 1870s and 1880s that resulted in a number of deaths and injuries. In 1892, East Cleveland became the first city in the United States to outlaw handguns. As handguns became more accessible, bullet production increased significantly and firearms became less common among average citizens. During World War II, bullet production continued to increase as war loomed large on America's horizon. Bullet manufacturers submitted bids for contracts to produce munitions for various branches of the military including artillery, tank warfare, naval gunfire support and air-combat missions. Bullet production peaked during World War II with over 1 million tons of ammunition produced nationally alone! However, due to advances in technology and weapon design during this time period, gun violence rates declined beginning in the late 1940s until they reached their current level today. Today's economy has led to an increase in gun ownership across America which has led to an increase in firearm-related deaths and injuries nationwide! While it is difficult to determine exactly how much credit bullet manufacturing has givenEast Cleveland specifically for its low homicide rate (only 2 per 100K residents), it is clear that this community has made significant contributions over the years towards keeping our city safe!

The area that is now East Cleveland was first settled by European colonists who were looking for a new home due to the unsettled state of Ohio. They arrived in 1795 and began to build homes and businesses. In 1812, the first post office was established in East Cleveland. The town continued to grow and develop until it became a city in 1907.
East Cleveland, Ohio is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 84,461 at the 2010 census, making it the eighth-largest city in Ohio and one of its six statewide municipalities. It is part of the Greater Cleveland metropolitan area and is located on Lake Erie near Cleveland. The area now known as East Cleveland was first settled by Europeans in 1796 as part of what is now Monroe County. The town of East Aurora was founded in 1812, and the village of Northfield were created in 1814. In 1825, the township of Lima was established within East Cleveland Township, and in 1827–28, a second township – Clearwater Township – was created within East Cleveland Township. In 1830, a post office called "East Liverpool" was established at a place where modern day Euclid Avenue meets the riverfront between Tremont Place to the south and Rocky River Drive to the north; this became an official post office name in 1837 with incorporation into City OfCLEVELAND as well. On November 3rd 1870, during Grant's American Civil War Administration (1865-1868), eastern part of present-day Wayne County was added to Mahoning County due to population growth from surrounding counties while western part remained unincorporated until 1908 when it became Cuyahoga County under Mayor John Fenton's administration because that section had been annexed by Youngstown from Warren County when that county split off from Mahoning County after Union victory over Confederate forces at Gettysburg). On March 25th 1912 Treasurer Atherton sold all but 12 blocks on Main Street for $2 per acre ($ about $ today) to J P Morgan & Co., Incorporation having originally organized this block sale as one large lots auctioned off for development purposes only which also included much later buildings such as Bank One Tower (now One Americas Center) then State House Annexe before being leased back to Morgan Trust Company through 1926 by Reuben Mears who renamed it State House Building #1 following its donation/leaseback to City OfCLEVELAND effective January 1st 1927 which coincided with restoration efforts inside/around former State House Annexe beginning on October 8th 1928 concurrent with Pennsylvania bank nationalization.) This event led directly to creation of new downtown east side neighborhood then called "The Heights" cited herein although most likely other neighborhoods contemporaneous with or adjacent thereto such as Clinton Hill continuing westward beyond current line drawn along High Street bisecting northeast corner thereof prior both streets running concurrently just southwesterly thence southeastwesterly across intersection becoming Harding Road thence northeasterly passing under Ironton Avenue bridge extending inland via Wackenhut Bridge landowner Peter Kapp purchased approximately 2400 acres extending northerly past present day Davis Rd./Chadwyck Rd./Bennington Rd./Wright Rd.. east boundary abutting freshwater pool then easterly reaching current day Quickenburg Rd/Scott St.. finally cresting ridgeline bordering__________________________________ Ohio History: "Beginning at Point Conception westward Indian traders pushed back hard against British settlers sailing up Lake Erie for trade including goods obtained through trading scalps taken during raids against French settlements along its shores." - George Washington Carver quote source = George Washington Carver: Life And Writings (1913) pg 242

East Cleveland, Ohio is a city in southwestern Ohio. The population was 38,851 at the 2010 census. It lies on the Mahoning River and is part of the Cleveland metropolitan area. The site of East Cleveland was first settled by the Lorain people in 1795. The town was named for Captain John Cleves Easton, who had been a military officer during the Northwest Indian War. In 1814, Easton sold his land to James Kapp and others for $4,000. The town's name derives from this transaction. In 1825, United States troops burned down Easton's sawmill to prevent its collapse during a flooding event that year. During World War I, munitions plants were located in East Cleveland and other parts of Mahoning County; these plants produced munitions such as TNT and B-29s used in the Second World War. The city was founded by George Washington Carver in 1901 as an agricultural center on what would become known as Green Township (now part of Warren Township). At that time it had a population of about 25 people; by 1910 it had grown to over 100 people thanks to heavy investments by Carver in farmland, citrus production, housing development, transportation systems and other aspects of local economic growth. In 1911 Carver donated 4 acres (16 km²) east of his former home on State Street (later renamed Glenn Heights Boulevard) to be dedicated as a public park; this donation remains one of the largest individual donations ever made to Americana Park Incorporated. "Carver’s Land" became one of downtown’s most popular attractions with more than 2 million visitors each year since its dedication."
