Dublin, Ohio is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Cuyahoga County. With a population of about 122,000 as of 2010, it is the largest city in the Cleveland metropolitan area and one of Greater Cleveland’s five largest cities by population. The name “Dublin” was chosen to honor John Quincy Adams, who had been president from 1828 to 1829 and who had played an important role in creating the United States as a republic. The first permanent European settlers arrived in what is now Dublin in 1792, when Captain James Cook discovered George Washington’s landing on Long Point on July 4th. The town was founded by Jonathan Dayton and his sons-in-law Nicholas Biddle and Peter Stuyvesant on land that became part of Euclid Township. In 1800, Joseph Addison bought 2,500 acres (10 km²) southeast of Dublin for $1,200 from Nicholas Biddle; he named it Runnelsville after himself. It was not until 1830 that Dublin began to grow significantly due to its location near marketplaces and its easy access to transportation via Canal Street and the Erie Canal. By 1840, there were over 100 buildings in downtown Dublin; by 1860, this number had increased to 1,500. In 1868, local businessmen supporting Andrew Johnson ran unsuccessfully for President against Zachary Taylor; however, because Ireland had become an independent country following World War I without having any representation in Congress or being able to vote therein (the United Kingdom did not become an independent country until 1922), their efforts may have helped Johnson win re-election with more than 60 percent of the popular vote despite no electoral votes from Ireland itself! After independence came about (and voting rights were granted unto Irish citizens), business activity dwindled somewhat as people shifted their focus towards commerce within their new nation instead of world events taking center stage like they once did outside Ireland! In fact only two years after becoming an independent nation – 1912 – Dublin experienced its most significant growth period with over 50% increase in population due largely to waves of Irish immigrants settling throughout southern Ohio during this time period! Despite these successes during postindependence times little changed physically or economically significant until recently when things started turning around thanks primarily to recent influxes IndyCar driver Verizon Wireless Honda Racing Team owner Rahal Loseslow into town through collaboration with Mayor Greg Fischer along with several other entrepreneurs

Dublin, Ohio is a town in the western portion of the U.S. state of Ohio and is the county seat of Clark County. The population was 13,812 at the 2010 census. Dublin was named for John Dubuque, an American soldier who fought in the Mexican-American War and also served as Clark County's manager from 1851 to 1857. The first white person to reside in Dublin was Job Cranch in 1810. James Kenedy purchased land near present day Clifton Heights in 1815 and built a cabin there. In 1830, Irishman Cornelius Fenton bought 3 acres (1 ha) on which he built a large log cabin known as "Fenton Manor." He sold his holdings to John Ahern in 1836 and moved into Fenton Manor with his family. A post office called Dublin was established at Dublin Landing on May 25, 1840, by George Hinton. The name change came about because mail from Cincinnati had been delivered via boat across the Ohio River to Cleveland instead of being carried overland as it then was. The first postmaster was Elijah Thayer until his death on October 12, 1850; afterward Miami Dade Postmaster Benjamin Nicholson took office until February 4, 1861 when he resigned because of military service during the Civil War (he became an officer). In 1851–1857 Clark County's manager, John Dubuque lived at "Dubuque House" located on what is now Clifton Heights Boulevard near Third Street between Park Avenue and Lexington Avenue South after moving from Chicago where he had been managing property since 1850. On November 10th 1870 United States Senator David Welles voted against cloture on Sixty-Third Congress resolution proposing annexation of Iowa Territory because it would effect changes within Clark County that were not yet fully realized including incorporation of new villages situated southwest of Dayton - these villages were later named Apple Valley (1902), Parma (1904), Nelsonville (1906), Lima (1908) and Bedford Hills (1910). These village incorporations are generally considered among the best examples of intercensal consolidations occurring during this period due to their close proximity together while still maintaining their distinct identities within Clark County government structures; however they were all eventually annexed into Dayton without incident by 1907 when that county became part of Dayton Township
In 1801, a group of people from Dublin, Ohio founded the town of Dublin. The town was originally called "Newburgh." The name change was in honor of General James Wilkinson who helped lead the United States during the War of 1812. In 1814, the town passed to Illinois and then to Ohio. On July 4th, 1850, Dublin became an independent city after voting by its citizens.
