Gun targets have a long and varied history in Delaware, Ohio. The first gun target was erected on the site of what is now the University of Delaware in 1793. It was a wooden frame with an iron crossbar at one end and a plaque reading "The First Gun Target In America." Over time, more targets were erected at various locations around the state. The University of Dayton also erected a target Shooting Range in 1903. during World War I, the United States military used this range to test new weapons. In 1922, Target USA Corporation (now known as American Outdoor shooting Association) began making replica guns for use by novice shooters across the U.S., including students at Wilmington College in Delaware. These replica guns quickly became popular among amateur shooters all over America and continue to be used today by many enthusiasts nationwide!

The Delaware and Ohio Gunberry Massacre took place on October 26, 1812, when a group of Indians led by Chief Tecumseh attacked a party of white settlers in what is now Delaware County, Ohio. The attackers killed six people and wounded thirteen others before being overwhelmed by the defenders. One settler was able to shoot three of the attackers before they could kill any more people.
Delaware, Ohio is a town in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Delaware County. The population was 7,021 at the 2010 census, making it the largest town in Delaware County by population. It is part of the Columbus metropolitan area. The first people to inhabit what would become Delaware were Native Americans who lived on the Scioto River before moving westward about 1000 AD. The first European settlers arrived in 1795 when George Washington and his band of soldiers invaded central Ohio as part of his military campaign against France. They landed at what is now Portsmouth and built a small cabin before proceeding eastward along the Scioto River. In 1800, Nicholas Morrell founded a log cabin community called Pottsville on an island in the Scioto River near modern-day Akron while he was trading with French traders from Canada. By 1802, there were 10 villages located throughout present-day Delaware County based on trade routes established by American fur traders such as James Monongahela and Pierre Dorion during their travels through that region during this time period. In 1815, General John Forbes Paths laid out a road from Portsmouth north to Toledo which became known asthe "Father Road". This road served as an important artery for transportation between Cincinnati and Cleveland during that time period; it also connected Indian Territory (now Michigan) with Pennsylvania via Delaware Valley settlements such as Newark and Ebenezer Township (today's Union Township). In 1817, after General John Forbes' death, his wife Catrina donated land for use as a school district in southeastern Fairfield Township including what would become Wilmington; this donation formed one of two key foundations for Dover School District #1 which was organized in 1893 following an effort by educator Amos Eaton to provide education for poor children living inDELEGATED PARISHES OF THE OHIO VALLEY BETWEEN THE WILMINGTON AREA AND CLEVELAND COUNTYduring those years.. In 1830, Benjamin Franklin purchased 640 acres south ofpresent-day Wilmington where he erected a small mill which still stands today known asFranklin's Mill; this mill continued operations until 1907 when it was replaced by Cooks Mills.. Delaware, Ohio is a small town in Ionia County, Ohio, United States. The population was 753 at the 2010 census. It was established in 1811 as a part of the Northwest Territory. Delaware was originally named for the Delawares, an Iroquois nation that lived on the southern border of present-day Delaware and Ontario Counties. The settlement began as a fur trading post on the Scioto River and quickly grew to become a transportation center for goods traveling between Erie and other eastern counties. In 1827, Delaware built its first schoolhouse which still stands today. In 1830, it also erectedthe first courthouse in Lucas County which is still standing today. The town's growth continued through the early years of the 20th century with industry becoming one of its mainstay industries including manufacturing tools and machinery, agricultural products such as produce (particularly corn), trucking services, lumber production and mercantile businesses such as retail stores and restaurants. A major thoroughfare in town called State Road 6 served as an important artery for traffic until well into recent times when Interstate 90 replaced it at Exit 4A/State Road 6 interchange nears downtown Wilmington Township where it crossed over into Warren County
Delaware, Ohio was a part of the Northwest Territory and the first state to be admitted to the Union on November 3, 1802. The territory had been organized from parts of Kentucky, Virginia, and Maryland. It was named for the Delaware River. The capital of the Northwest Territory was Frankfort. In 1803, when Ohio became a state, it joined with Indiana as one of the original 11 states in the United States.
