On 15 October 1870[3], Congress passed act providing for creation of area within Cuyahoga County bounded by Vine Street on the north side and Second Street on the south side;[4] this act became effective on 1January 1871 when all cities within Cuyahoga County were merged into Akron Municipal District.[5] On 8 November 1895[6], Act No. 5372 created separate independent municipal districts for each town within Cuyahoga County – Cleveland Municipal District No1 includingAkron,[7][8] Cleveland Municipal District No2 including Mentor[9][10] and Euclid Township included in Cleveland Municipal District No1; Hopkinsville City Limits included part of Hopkinsville Township along with union with Adams Township on 8November 1895[11].
