Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio is a town in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Cuyahoga County. The population was 24,906 at the 2010 census. The namesake of the town is Sugar Creek which rises in central Cuyahoga Valley and flows northeast through the town to join the adjoining Muskingum River just north of downtown. The first Europeans to visit what is now Cuyahoga Falls were French traders who established a trading post there in 1788. In 1814, General David Brownsfield laid out a plan for an original city called "Newburgh," but it never came to be because development around it languished until 1840 when Cleveland Mayor James Kapp purchased land near present-day University Circle and built a series of warehouses and stores right on banks of Sugar Creek. This new center became known as "Cleveland" while Newburgh stagnated with only 6 residents in 1860 Census data compared to 21,812 by 1880; however that decline may have been due more to factors such as severe financial problems associated with agricultural production than any realignment or growth within Cleveland proper itself. In 1892, John Prentice founded Widespread Rubber Company which became one of America's leading rubber companies during World War I before going bankrupt in 1922; however Widespread Rubber Company can still be found today all throughout northeastern Ohio including its original plant located in Cuyahoga Falls where they produce car tires and other rubber products from natural gas emissions captured from their manufacturing process In 1932, voters passing an ordinance establishing racial segregation in public transportation resulted inBUS rapid expansion into neighborhoods outside of downtown until 1951 when bus service was discontinued due to budget cuts that also effected many other aspects of civic life like libraries and parks In 1957, local businessman Dan Gilbert greatly increased tourism by founding The Cleveland Museum Of Art (TMoA) within walking distance of his family's paper company headquarters - this later led to other cultural endeavors like becoming one OF THE FIRST AMERICAN DISTRIBUTORS OF MUSIC VIDEOGAME SYSTEMS (2002) Today there are over 130 museums scattered across 15 counties across Northeast Ohio including multiple art museums (including MoMA), theatres/theater complexes/galleries/museums devoted entirely or partially to music (DTE Energy Music Hall & Theatre), significant shopping districts (Nextown), restaurants serving primarily Polish cuisine (Restaurant Lubyanka), nightlife options along Euclid Avenue South between State Street and 10th Street NE (/ shortcuts: NiteCore Lounge on State St., Agora Nightclub on Euclid Ave SE ), college-related institutions such as Simon Fraser University & Case Western Reserve University /OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY etc.), major redevelopments taking place inside historic areas like Palace Square redevelopment Project which includes major retail tenants like Macy's Department Store(2015-) There are several theme parks located within easy reach too including Six Flags OverOhio – Discovery Kingdom – Cedar Point – Kings Dominion – water amusement park Adventureland Park – Zoological Gardens Safari Park - three lakeside resorts - Hill Country Inn & Spa - Great Lakes Diner - Walden Pond Resort housing developments being planned or under constructionincorporating thousands608 units atop 4 hilltops spit out over 15 acres split evenly between high rise buildings constructed primarily for luxury residences slated for completion 2019-'2020 / erroneous information about ' housingsites' having been published online erroneously causing some people upset / final word on this matter being that no homes will actually be built

Cuyahoga Falls is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Cuyahoga County. The population was 39,024 at the 2010 census, making it the second most populous city in Cuyahoga County after Cleveland. The name "Cuyahoga" is derived from Huron words Kwikwaha and Wequahegan, meaning "the deep water." The first permanent settler in what is now Cuyahoga Falls was Nicholas Musgrove on May 25, 1792. He named his property Musgrove's Point after himself and his brother-in-law Nicholas Musgrave (one of British colonial settlers). In 1814, John Marshall bought land here for $4,000 from General James Wadsworth. He founded Cincinnati as a town on July 4, 1815 with a population of about 50 people. However, due to Saginaw Bay being closed to shipping by then–Secretary of War Simon Cameron because of claims by Russia over Detroit Territory –Cincinnati only had about 15 residents when it became an incorporated village on October 5th that year. On November 6th 1817BUSINESSMAN JAMES WILSON purchased 2 Lots extending from Canal Street North to Superior Avenue South for $2 per acre ($16 per hectare)…. Wilson had been employed by Samuel Morse as an engineer on their new Telegraph Line between Cincinnati and Pittsburgh…. After Wiliams' purchase he donated land -now part of University Circle -to form what is now Harrison Park which housed both Schoolhouse Square (now part of First Baptist Church) which served as its first meeting place and also two enslaved African Americans who were kept there until 1830 when they were sold to Drury Lane Taverners & Coal merchants [owned] by Abel Greenleaf…. In 1821 he donated another lot -now part of Euclid Avenue -to become Wilson Chapel which served as the first Methodist Episcopal church in this area…..In 1825 he donated another lot near Canalside Heights to become Lakewood Cemetery…..On December 8th 1850 WILLIAM HARRISON erected a wood frame building at 712 State St., later known as The Masonic Temple Hamilton Township was created effective February 14th 1800 from portions of Wayne County including parts of Holmesburg Township including today's unincorporated community called Warrenville Warrenville was laid out on April 10th 1800 by Colonel John Moore who surveyed what would eventually be called Old Warrenville along State Road 12 northward from where US 131 crosses Delaware River upon reaching present day Erie Boulevard ..... Partially because United States forces burned down the fortification around Fort Clinton during occupation in 1794 (!), much old Warrenvillian architecture still remains throughout Downtown Cleveland today .... cleared away during construction began anew within limits laid out for future settlement but soon extended into additional parcels again Albeit mostly rural areas until World War II when neighborhoods like Beacon Hill were intentionally built along urban arterial routes !!… Airmen stationed at homeport brought industry ashore with them while stationed here including steel foundry works located just northeast across Prospect Drive now occupied by Gateway Aluminum Company before becoming Akron’s Highpoint Mall . Manufacturing shifted elsewhere once production moved inland however throughEOFWWII heavy smoking regulations caused many factories throughout Northeast Ohio cease operations……………… One reason Industrial production didnt move inland very far was lack thereof available transportation links ..... railroads few and far between
The Cuyahoga Falls community is located in northeastern Ohio, about 15 miles east of Cleveland on the Cuyahoga River. It was founded in 1814 by General David Dixon and his wife Susannah Hackett Dixon. The first known school was built in 1816. In 1830, the town acquired land from the village of Euclid and renamed it Cuyahoga Falls after its namesake river. The millrace that ran through downtown became a popular tourist attraction, and breweries such as Asahi Brewery and Pabst Brewing were established in the area. In 1907, Edison Electric Company completed a transmission line to Cleveland from Cuyahoga Falls, making the city one of the first places in America to receive electricity from an electric power plant. The mills closed around 1970, but some remain standing as testimonials to early industrialization in this region
