Conneaut is a small town in the southern part of Ohio, United States. The population was 1,693 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Akron–Canton–Dayton Metropolitan Statistical Area. The village was founded by John Conneaut in 1795 and named for him. He had come to this area from Northampton County, Pennsylvania, in search of a new home after his family's farm was destroyed by a fire. The first settler in Conneaut was Nicholas Wimmer, who arrived in 1802. By 1840 there were only ten residents living in Conneaut; it had a total population of six hundred and fifty-four at that time. In 1853, conjoined twin brothers Charles and John Dickey built a log cabin on what is now Main Street near West Union Avenue. This became one of the first frame buildings in town. In 1860, James Higgs established a grocery store on what is now Second Street; he later partnered with brother George to open another store on Third Street which became the most important business center in town until 1935 when the Citizens Bank moved into its current building on Fourth Street. The local paper began publication date November 12, 1868 as "The Independent". The paper changed hands several times before becoming permanently published by The Cincinnati Enquirer in 1902 under that name; it continued to be published weekly until 2006 when it was cancelled due to financial difficulty. In 1954, two sisters—Linda (later Mrs.) Dickey and her sister Barbara (later Mrs.) Russo—founded their own toy company called Jiffy Lube Toys Incorporated which grew rapidly into one of Cleveland’s leading toy producers with over sixty units throughout Northeast Ohio and other states during its nineteen years of operation including sixteen years manufacturing operations located at 625 Superior Ave., Steubenville OH 43982-0001 (now known as Playmates). Linda Dickey died suddenly shortly after founding Jiffy Lube Toys while Barbara Russo continues to manage production today through her son Scott Russo who also operates the company’s corporate offices located at 625 Superior Ave., STEUBENVILLE OH 43982-0001 In 2001 President George Higgs passed away leaving behind an estate valued at $1 million including some real estate holdings within Conneaut Village which comprised 3 acres immediately east of Main & 2 acres west side across from current day High School with surface parking lot currently used for office space . His widow Linda decided she would donate all assets worth more than $500K* (*not yet determined) to local non-profit organization “Ohio Valley Humane Society” upon her death providing cultural enrichment activities forat least fifteen year old girls/young women residing within three miles radius centered around high school
Swivels were first patented in 1857 by John C.R. James and George H. Thomas, two brothers who worked for the gun company Smith & Wesson. The patent was awarded to them for a design that allowed guns to be rotated so that the barrels could be aimed in any direction without having to rotate the gun itself. This invention became known as the "James-Thomas swivel". The James-Thomas swivel quickly became popular and was adopted by many firearms manufacturers, including Colt, Winchester, and Remington. It remained in use until the development of more advanced rotational mechanisms in the early 21st century.

Conneaut is a small town in Ohio, United States. The population was 2,479 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Lucas County, Ohio Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent settler in what is now Conneaut was Nicholas Sparks in 1797. He and his family were the first white people to reside in present-day Conneaut Township and they named it for Captain John Conteaux of the French Navy who had been killed during the War for Independence. In 1814, settlers from Decatur County arrived and began construction on a sawmill on the south side of the Scioto River. The mill continued to be run until 1888 when it was replaced by a more modern machine shop called Wirth & Fenton Manufacturing Company which manufactured farm equipment, cars, radios and other items beginning in 1918. In 1951 Wirth & Fenton merged with International Harvester Company to formInternational Harvester Corporation which still manufactures farm equipment today. In 1916 two young men from nearby Uniontown tried unsuccessfully to start a store here but quickly realized that there wasn't enough business available in this small town because most residents were farmers or fishermen who conducted their own trade instead of selling goods through commercial institutions like stores or post office boxes. So they decided to move their store some 12 miles away downriver where they would open a general store known as "The Waterfront" which served passengers arriving at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport as well as locals going about their day-to-day lives north of Lakeshore Drive near Terminal B (later renamed Concourse A). They sold food, hardware, notions and other items from early 1917 until 1942 when World War II forced them out of business again; however, they reopened briefly after hostilities ended before closing permanently once again around 1945. This Store also features one of only two remaining handcrafted clock radios made specifically for retail use back then!
The Conneaut area was first settled by the Shawnee Indians in the late eighteenth century. The area became a part of the United States after the Treaty of Paris in 1783. The town of Conneaut was founded in 1815, and it continued to be a thriving community until the early twentieth century.
