Columbus, Ohio is home to the world’s first commercial ammunition factory. The Columbus Armory was established in 1814 and became one of the leading manufacturers of arms and munitions during the 19th century. Many of Columbus’ most famous landmarks were built around this Ammunition Factory including the State Capitol Building and The Dispatch building which now houses the Ohio State Fairgrounds. In 1827, General James K. Polk ordered a new armory be built in order to meet increased military demands for ammunition. Construction began on what would become known as “The Arsenal” and after years of work, it opened its doors to the public in 1829. The Arsenal quickly became one of America’s leading arsenals and produced munitions such as cannons, rifles and artillery from lead, brass and bronze. In 1830, Congress passed an act authorizing the Columbus Armory to produce shot shells which would soon become an essential part of American warfare. Over time, Columbus Ammunition Factory production grew larger still as new technologies were developed such as gas-fired guns and machine guns. In 1976, Columbus Armory was sold to IMI Holdings Incorporated who continue to operate it today as a specialty ammo distributor with over 100 locations across North America

Columbus, Ohio is an American city and the county seat of Cuyahoga County, Ohio. The population was 563,711 as of 2017. The area now comprising Columbus was first settled by Native Americans in the late 18th century. In 1792, the United States Congress created Cuyahoga County and named it for George Washington's father-in-law, General James K. Polk. In 1802, John Fitch founded the Erie Canal in what is now Cleveland; this canal connected Lake Erie to Ohio River Valley through Columbus. On July 4, 1787, a group of thirteen Europeans led by Captain Christopherius Johnson landed on the Great Lakes region atrate called "The landing." They were seeking passage to India via Canada and discovered new land that would soon become known as America. The first European settlement in what is now Columbus was founded on November 12, 1797 by Lieutenant Colonel George Rogers Clark; Clark had been wounded during the Battle of Saratoga and later served as commander at Fort Point on Long Island Sound. The City of Columbus was chartered on April 14th, 1800 by the Second National Convention of United States Constituents in Philadelphia under pressure from President Thomas Jefferson. On December 12th of that year, a resolution was passed authorizing a committee to select a site for an American capital; after much deliberation among various members of Congress however no vote was taken to establish an American capital until May 7th – three months after Washington's death! proceeded with his plans for Mount Vernon instead! By September 1802 only two buildings%–the old courthouse and First Congregational Church%–had been erected%–the others being used as barracks or stables for military units garrisoned near Fort Wayne%. After years of struggle%,on January 10th 1830 Ohio voters ratified General Harrison's decision to create Cincinnati as America's second national city! As part of its $5 million budget request submitted to Congress in 1835%, Cincinnati received $250 000 from US Congressman Adam Clayton Powell Jr., considered then one of the most powerful men in America! When Claytons successor Andrew Jackson took office he vetoed all but 1/3rd ($183 000)of Cincinnati's appropriation which caused great anger among supporters including Mayor Richard Murchison who felt himlected because he represented their interests rather than those of Cincinnati! Although Jackson did not actually veto any appropriations he did refuseto sign legislation appropriating funds specifically for infrastructure projects such as canals and bridges%. This event has come to be known as "The Great Embargo". After gaining control over government spending under Jackson (1837-1841),he targeted programs like Indian Removal which cost lives and devastated native cultures throughout his term %'s agenda includes numerous acts against Native Americans including forced relocation (many died along THE WILDERNESS). Despite these controversies%,Jackson remains popularly regarded within Ohio as one Of Our Greatest Presidents%. In 1850,,Ohio became oneofthe fifty US states when it gained its own Constitution %'s article II Section 2 read: “The state shall have a Govt consisting partly thereof elected by direct suffrage…and partly appointed….” With large numbers newly disenfranchised citizens moving into central parts Arizona Territory during this time period many millenials banded together forming groups such as Young Men’s Christian Associations (YMCA) beginning with meetings at Western Reserve University where they formulated ideals about democracy and social upliftment while also engaging with other young people across eastern Indiana 's 6 counties similar to today’s CLEVELAND OUTLINE® youth organization called Xycladians™ whose mission statement reads: “To work together towards common goals through sharing knowledge &XP; building relationships
