Clayton, Ohio is a city located in the eastern portion of the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Butler County. As of 2010, the population was 54,569. The city was named for General James Caldwell, who fought in the American Revolution and died at Battle Creek in 1794. In 1801, it became part of Cincinnati, then in 1806 it became part of Toledo. It was annexed by Cleveland on February 14, 1901. On July 20, 1907, Clayton became a city again when its boundaries were changed from rural to urban areas following approval by an act of Congress. At that time it had a population of 24,868 residents and was made home to three branches of government: an elected mayor and six council members; a police department with twenty-four officers; and two schools--The Clayton School District No 1 (estimated enrollment as of fall 2010 is 981 students) and The Grove School District No 2 (estimated enrollment as of fall 2010 is 563 students).

This journal served as a storehouse for all kinds of artillery weaponry including cannons, rifles, pistols and machine guns. On July 14th 1898, a newgun magazine was created called le Juge d’Instance (the judicial authority), which served as an armory for storing weapons and ammunition for use in court cases. After World War I, manyGun magazines were destroyed due to Allied bombing campaigns such as Hiroshima and Nagasaki. However, some still remain today thanks to donations from people like Dick Cheney

Clayton is a city in Muskegon County, Michigan, United States. The population was 2,814 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Muskegon County. Clayton was first settled in 1827 by Nicholas Clayton and his family as an early clearing on the Battle Creek River near present-day Kickapoo Township.Nicholas' brother Jeremiah also founded what would become Clayton in 1827. A post office called Clayton was established in 1829, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1906. In 1830, John Friesen made a Donation to the Methodist Episcopal Church which he named after himself and his father-in-law Nicholas Clayton's nephew Timothy Friesen. In 1840, two more donation were given - this time for land on the east side of Battle Creek to be used as public school district property; this district became Muskegon Heights School District #1. The population of town increased rapidly through 1850 with new arrivals from Ohio and Indiana including many Methodists who had moved westward during the great migration of that decade seeking better opportunities than they found back home among their families or friends back east. The first store opened in 1851 - it was built by Joshua Henshaw & Brothers which later became part of J&J Henshaw Co.. For many years there were no schools within town limits; instead parents sent their children off to get education elsewhere when they could not afford it themselves due to high tuition prices at local colleges or universities back then (nowadays free). After several failed attempts at creating township status for Claytontown between 1860 and 1865 due to lack of support from other townsfolk/citizens, commissioners finally granted township status on February 20, 1868 thanks largely to contributions from Mayor John Crouchman (who would later become state senator) along with $5 thousand contributed by entrepreneur David Blythe...It wasn't until 1912 when villagehood status was granted once again following an effort spearheaded by Mayor Clarence Ewing that Claytontown attained its current form...In 1916 businessman Milton Saginaw donated land adjacent to his business complex on East Main Street now known as Saginaw Square Mall which served as the city's first park...The city passed an ordinance authorizing annexation by Muskegon County on December 12th 1916 becoming one of only a few cities within Michigan without such approval...In 1949 City Manager Julius Latham took over management from Mr. Ransom Duchateau effective January 1st following his retirement from government service...During MrSaginaw Square mall's heyday over 100 businesses operated out front including 11 Sears Roebuck stores plus 2 JCPenney anchors making it one of busiest shopping malls anywhere before or since its closure in 2000....Beginning around 1957 clayton started seeing growth due mostly to manufacturing relocations primarily related to automobiles being produced at nearby Toledo during that time period......Today there are 6 Antioch Furniture stores open inside our boundaries plus 3 GEM Appliance stores all located just outside our borders!
Clayton was founded in 1797 by George Clayton and is the oldest community in Lucas County. It is located on the Scioto River, about 25 miles east of Cleveland.
