His device was designated Type A1/5 by Nazi Germany's OKW (OKH) intelligence service in 1939; it became known as the "Siemens Light Gun." In 1945, when Allied forces liberated Berlin from Nazi occupation, they discovered more than 2 million unregistered Weapon Flashlight models spread throughout Germany - many discarded by Nazi authorities!

Circleville, Ohio is a town in Pickaway County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,362 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Columbus metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1803 by John Wilkinson and named for Circuit City in Kentucky. In 1827, Wilkinson's son-in-law James Fenton bought land east of Circleville and laid out a new village called "Fentonville". The town became known as "Fenton" because it lay on the Wabash River between Circleville and Cincinnati. A post office was established at Fentonville in 1830, and the name of the town changed to "Circleville" in 1837 when the Erie Canal crossed the Wabash River near Circleville. In 1830, George Stephenson built his first railway line from Liverpool to Manchester, England through Pickaway County and into Ohio; he named it the Cincinnati & Fallstown Railroad (later renamedthe Erie Canal Company). On July 8, 1840, Stephenson's railroad reached Circleville with its first product: coal from mines east of Dayton.
