Circleville, Ohio is a small city located in the west central part of Ohio. The population was 21,814 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Hamilton County. The town was founded in 1825 by James Wilkinson and named after Constantia, Italy. In 1827, Wilkinson's family moved to Circleville and began to cultivate land there. The town grew quickly and by 1830 had a population of 100 people. In 1835, Wilkinson sold his share in the town to John Dickinson and his wife Sarah Orchard Dickinson for $1,000 cash. They renamed it Circleville after their home state of Vermont. In 1865, Circleville became an unincorporated community when it merged with neighboring Easton to form what is now Hamilton County. A post office called Circleville was established in 1826, but no mail came through until 1840 due to problems with the roads being difficult to get into the community from outside of Cincinnati. By 1845, there were four postmasters living in Circuitville: Amos Kendall (1846-49), Levi Houghton (1850-54), Ebenezer Learned (1855-59) and stairs Josephine Kapp (1860-65). The first school opened incircleville on October 10th 1870 named "Homeschooling School" which later became known as "The Friends Meeting House". There were six students enrolled at this school which taught reading, writing and arithmetic along with other skills necessary for life such as Social Security numbers etc.. For many years this school served as the only formal educational opportunity for children from Circleville; however since its closure by 2014 it has been reopened as an online course offered by Khan Academy . In addition to schooling young adults all over Ohio during that time period there was also a general store open day/night which did quite well for itself especially because taxes were very low back then Some say that one reason whyCircleville prospered so much during these tough times was because they had a good relationship with local banks which helped them get loans against things like lumber or other goods they bought This allowed them not just sell their products but also use those products as collateral for loans This system continued up until 1978 when Community Bank went out of business . AfterCommunity Bank went out of businesscirclevillians turned more towards credit cards . Today most businesses within circlevilles boundaries either have been bought or converted into non-profit organizations

Circleville is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio, located on the Scioto River. The population was 12,886 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton–Daytona Beach–Muncie Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first known permanent settlement in what is now Circleville was made by a group of Native Americans in 1795 when they built a cabin on the Scioto River. In 1801, General Anthony Wayne and his army invaded Ohio and burned all but one of the villages along the Scioto River as punishment for rebelling against British rule. This event is generally considered to be the beginning of Cincinnati's rise to power as an economic center in America. In 1814, General James Ketchum founded what became Circleville after he learned that settlers were moving westward from Portsmouth, Virginia, following his victory over Tecumseh at Fallen Timbers Creek near present-day Xenia. By 1830, there were more than 100 white families living in or around Circleville; by 1840, there were over 200 and it had become an important stop on stage coach routes between Cincinnati and Pittsburgh. During its heyday as an industrial center during the late 19th century and early 20th century, Circleville attracted workers from across America due to its well-developed transportation system including two railroads (the Erie Railroad and Pennsylvania Railroad) and two steamboats (the Cleveland & Western Steamboat Company) which served as ferries between downtown Cincinnati and various points downstream along the riverbank.. circlevillians are known for their annual "festival of lights", also called "Christmas in July" because Christmas falls on George Washington's birthday every year; this event features lights display throughout town grounds culminating with a parade down Main Street
