Today, Celinas public schools are one of the most comprehensive in the area with over 120 courses offered including pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade along with Advanced Placement courses for students who desire college credit or further learning opportunities. In addition to its educational institutions, celinas economy also relies heavily on agriculture which includes operation of two large farms as well as production of hay and vegetables both inside and outside the town limits

Celina, Ohio is a small town located in the southern part of the United States. The population was 5,752 at the 2010 census. Celina is situated on the Scioto River and has a few businesses such as a bank and post office. It also has a small school, one church, and two hotels which are used by tourists for their stay in Celina during the summertime. The history of Celina begins with its founding in 1818 by John Hargrave and his wife Deborah. They arrived from England to start a new life in what is now Celina. At first they only had six children but they soon started to grow and expand their business. By 1828 they had 10 children and began to build their own house on land that they bought from John Goodrich. The good work done by these early settlers led to them being thanked by President James Ketchum when he visited America in 1830. This event helped give rise to the name “Celina” after the town was surveyed for him by surveyor George Stephenson Jr.. This growth continued until 1854 when fire destroyed most of their homes including John Hargrave’s original home which still stands today within sight of Celina High School! This event set off some great hardships for those living in Celina as it left many people homeless for weeks or even months while reconstruction took place. However, through it all, these residents persevered and eventually rebuilt their homes using local materials and labor! In 1865, celinda citizens voted unanimously to become an incorporated village! This allowed them more power (and autonomy) than ever before which helped keep them vibrant throughout the years despite various challenges faced such as floods, World War II bombings (during which much damage was done), economic downturns, etc… In 1951-1953 members of Congress visited celINA during hearings on bills related to education reform; this visit helped spur further development in both our school system as well as economy overall Over time we have seen many changes take place within our community: Our mayor became elected directly via popular vote instead of appointment; we adopted an open government policy whereby all public records are available online for anyone with internet access; we established ourselves as one of “the leading little towns” within Appalachia; we hosted our first annual Arts Festival back in 1996 (!); we now participate annually in Western Pennsylvania Folklife Festival & Heritage Days celebration – showcasing unique food traditions from across Western PA (& eastern Ohio!), along with live music concerts etc… We continue striving towards becoming an excellent community where everyone can feel respected & valued – proud parents raise proud kids here!
