After reaching southern Lawrence Township they proceeded southwesterly for about twenty miles before turning due east and passing through unincorporated Bedford Township into Lawrence County where they found shelter among friendly Indian tribes while exploring this newly discovered land that would soon become their homebase forevermore – much like later pioneers to follow them across America’s continent would do! In less than two weeks James Fenton had founded what would come to be known as Celina – originally spelled “Chelin” but eventually anglicized as “Celina” due to its then-prominent position along Interstate 71A close by (the name stuck until it was changed again in 1951!). The first post office opened under this name on December 9th, 1815; however it didn’t stay open very long since mail got delivered by wagon instead! James Fenton died suddenly early one morning while out harvesting potatoes near present day McKinley Road/State Route 60 upon return home from work; his wife Alida bore him four children: Elizabeth (born October 3rd, 1816), George Washington (born February 17th, 1818), Martha Jane (born September 1st, 1830) and Anthony Wayne (born May 8th, 1834)! Although initially settled primarily around Cephus Creek/Scioto River Bend within Lawrence Township proper – Pettibonee Creek being situated just north of present day Elm Street & Trumbull Avenue & running parallel thereto for approximately mile or so within incorporated Flathead Township east thereof until its confluence with Pettibonee Creek exactly east of town Limits – over time other areas were annexed into Selma Township including parts of Bedford & Bedford Counties immediately northwest thereof between Pettibonee Creek & State Route 60 crossing thence both ways just south of present day Elm Street joining Selma Town limits therein minutes after annexation were all established thereby creating some pretty sizeable townsite developments even today! One such area that quickly came into being was what are now parts of Clinton Township including current-day Citrus Heights(northwest side); Parkersburg(southwest side); Willowbrook(east side)?; Ballston Spa?; Wendover Heights? etc.? etc.? In fact there are still quite a few places in central Ohio still bearing township namesakes even though those boundaries have been modified several times via amalgamation or splitoffs over time like Columbiana City College District?…or Athens- Clarion Hills Community School District?….or Berea Valley Regional Arts Center District??? etc.? etc.? In short if you ask anyone hereabouts where their hometown originated they almost invariably will point you towards one or more former township settlements! As mentioned earlier following James Fenton’s initial establishment smallpox epidemics wreaked havoc throughout western PA back then causing mass mortality mainly among young men Militia scouts accompanying General Wayne during his key engagement at Fallen Timbers (& many others too) so Disease must have been rampant amongst these frontier settlers living conditions couldn’t have been much better either!) fully realizing that large families required lots & lots (>5) subsistence gardens suitable for cultivation ! Sooner or later every ablebodied male became involved in bringing goods & trade downriver to market setting up shop outside large Frame stores common today only experienced by select few generations earlier!! And thank God for roads such as interstates 70A / 71A providing easy access hitherto ensuring quickeals commerical growth despite often difficult terrain 🙂 indeed our forefathers did something truly amazing when it comes to building not only our homes but churches, schools and businesses dotting every inch of rural America way back when………………………………………..Yes folks celinas original founders really did pave the way forward for American progress right here& Now…………………..

Celina, Ohio is a small town in the U.S. state of Ohio. It is located in Celina Township, Stark County. The population was 1,569 at the 2010 census. The name originated from a French word meaning "spring" or "well." The first settler in Celina was John Coffin in 1810. He and his family moved to the area from France just after the American Revolution. They were among the first Europeans to settle what is now Stark County. In 1816, John Coffin's son-in-law, James Ketchum, settled on an estate near present day Celina and started a farm called Ketchum's Station which later became part of Celina Township. In 1825, General George Washington bought land adjoining Ketchum's Station for $1,000 and began developing it into a township that same year. By 1830, Celina contained about 100 homes and had two public schools as well as a store and post office. In 1840, three more families arrived in Celina - Daniel Jordon (from Kentucky), Solomon Hardin (of Tennessee) and Isaac Hubbard (of Pennsylvania). All of these settlers founded businesses in the township including one by Solomon Hardin that served as the nucleus for what would become Antrim Manufacturing Company which still exists today as part of Lunkenheimer Industries Incorporated.. Allied forces invaded England during World War II and many residents left their homes to fight overseas; however most returned home once hostilities ceased. Afterward many residents continued to work at local factories while others built new homes around town until outtown areas became heavily developed with single-family detached houses becoming increasingly common throughout the 1970s through 1990s when celinaspopulation peaked at 2,000 people but has declined slightly since then with only 100 current residents living within its boundaries
