In 1907, Mr. Smith developed a gun that used compressed gas to fire pellets, which he named the "Dart." He exported the Dart to Europe and other parts of the world, and it became one of the most popular airguns around at that time.
Celina is a small town in the Lower Peninsula of Michigan, United States. The population was 3,554 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Clintonburg-Lansing Micropolitan Statistical Area. Celina is located in southern Wayne County on the east side of the Upper Peninsula and north of Grand Rapids. The first settler in what became Celina was Alice Cook in 1836. Cooks children were among the first to be brought up within Celina limits when it post office was established in 1846. This location served as an important point on the road between Detroit and Grand Rapids, giving early settlers a good connection with both areas. When water transport became available, goods transported by barge could not be brought downriver all the way to market so celinas first store was built on Main Street in 1860. A new store building was erected in 1875 and still stands today as a Blockbuster Video Store. In 1865, two brothers named John Wickeniuk opened a livery stable which continued to operate until 1912 when it burned down and required major reconstruction including adding an attached garage for cars and buses which still stands today (the original structure can be seen from Main Street). In 1924, Mr. Wickeniuk donated land for what would become Central High School where students now attend beginning with grades 7 through 12th grade according to their current school district boundaries – making Celina one of only two high schools entirely within one school district (the other being Southfield Township Schools District 2). In 1928, Celina had its own fire department and Ladies Auxiliary No 1 & 2 were organized along with tornado drills conducted each year during late summer months following severe thunderstorms that could often cause extensive damage or loss of life near our downtown area due to large standing water piles left after heavy rains or snowmelt events weeks prior! Today we have state-of-the-art suppression systems providing great coverage while keeping our downtown business districts safe during extreme weather conditions! Celina, Ohio is a town in Medina County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,783 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland–Akron–Canton Combined Statistical Area. Celina was founded in 1836 by John Burt and his brother Daniel as an agricultural community on the banks of the Cuyahoga River. The name "Celina" means "place where many beans are grown." The first post office in Celina was established in 1837, and it remained in operation until1851. The first settler to arrive in Celina was Tryon Phelps. Phelps had come from Maryland with his family during the great migration of 1825-29. He built a log cabin on what is now Main Street and named it settlersville after his home state of Maryland. In 1840, Jno Fenton bought farmersville from Phelps and developed it into a town with a gristmill, store, Methodist church, blacksmith shop and other buildings. In 1845-46 George Ladd purchased land east of present day Main Street from James Sells for $12 per acre (0<=1845 && 0<=1846). This land became known as Ladd's Addition because it lies adjacent to today's Celina High School campus which bear this name. After doing some farming himself for several years Ladd decided to open up business as an innkeeper/barber instead of continuing agriculture full time like he had done before due to lack of capital or interest at that time within Medina County among other things In 1850 he sold all his property except for about 3 acres near center square (now downtown) to John Whitehead for $100 per acre including improvements (this parcel lay between present day 2nd Avenue north and 3rd Avenue south). whitehead called this tract Whitehead's Addition because he owned most of it along with most of what would later become downtown Celina limits today including parts of 4th Avenue north and 5th Ave south
Celina, Ohio was founded in 1836 by John Celina and his wife, Anna. The town was named for Anna's ancestress, Celina of Rome. The first settler in the area was John Murtagh, who arrived in 1837. Other early settlers included Michael Collins and his family, who came from Dublin in Ireland in 1840. In 1846, the Celinas sold their land to the United States Government for $813 ($2,500 at today's prices).
