Brook Park is a neighborhood in the city of Cleveland, Ohio. It is located east of downtown and spans from the banks of the Cuyahoga River to the border of Euclid Avenue and State Road 330. The community was formed in 1892 when sections of Mentor, Middletown, Brookline, and Strongsville were combined to form one large area. As its name suggest, Brook Park is home to many trees, including several thousand Oaks that crown a network of streets that run along the river. In addition to its natural beauty, Brook Park also has a rich history dating back to when it was part of the British colonies. The area now known as Brook Park was originally inhabited by Native Americans who hunted game near what is now Uniontown and Fairview Heights. In 1794, during the French and Indian War, General George Washington's army burned down part of Fort Behnken on the site where today's Greenfield Village stands. This event led to an influx of European settlers who founded new communities in this area such as Mentor (founded in 1796) and Euclid (founded in 1800). During World War II, Brook Park became one of the most heavily bombed areas in Cleveland because it housed both American forces and Japanese bombers. Many homes were destroyed or damaged but with help from local businesses and residents alike, many repairs were made quickly. Afterward, Brook Park experienced a renaissance which saw new schools built as well as revitalization efforts including an increase in development around Lake Erie Boulevard which bisected Brook Park at its north-south axis. Today there are many restaurants and shops throughout Brooks Olde Towne district while smaller neighborhoods continue to be developed around Interstate 77 southbound between Mentor Rd./State Rd 330 & Ely Ave., just west off I-77 on Euclid Ave., east off I-77 near Antioch Rd./State Routes 10 & 4807/4808

Brook Park is a small community in the Athens-Clarke County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,029 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Toledo–Muncie-Lafayette Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area that would become Brook Park was first settled by Germans in 1810. A post office called "Brook Park" was established in 1819, and remained in operation until 1959. Brook Park was first developed as a residential district on the southern edge of Athens Township. In 1927,the Brook Park School District was formed from portions of Athens Township and much of Lebanon Township. The original school buildings were constructed between 1929 and 1931; they were replaced in 1984 by the current two-story wood frame school building which seats 200 students and 30 staff members. In 1937, it became apparent that a large tract of land on which Brook Park had been built would be available for sale at an auction; this led to the development of what is now known as "The Villages". As part of its marketing strategy, The Villages announced that all homes would be offered for purchase at face value only (no interest rates); this Plan worked well enough to continue being sold even after many homes were given away to other residents during World War II. During the late 1800s through early 1920s there was significant growth in Brookpark due to its location close to Toledo's business district; however when automobile traffic began increasing rapidly around Toledo starting around 1925 most people began moving out into townships such as Trotwood or North Olmsted instead of staying put near their jobs downtown (this trend continued into the 1930s). In 1940, when Akron Mayor Julius Rosenwald announced plans for beltline road construction within city limits he also announced plans for new housing developments along what is now Interstate 690 outside of town limits; these developments eventually became known as Thornhill Gardens after one of Mayor Rosenwald's top aides who served as planner for those neighborhoods. When Interstate 690 opened up more area east of town Limits including partscurrently belonging to Thornhill Gardens became available for development once again although with no highway access it struggled economically throughout most of the 1960s until becoming fully commercialized following I-675's opening up further east over a decade later (although some housing still remains located off I-675). During this time period several businesses closed down due to competition from larger factories closer to downtown Cincinnati not having enough space or employees willing or able to move out when those facilities opened up (one example is Piggly Wiggly which relocated from Elmira, New York City primarily because they could not compete with larger burger restaurants opening up outside Cincinnati). After 1970 most residents either left or moved back into their homes while smaller businesses did start popping up once again but unable nor able keep up with newer transportation options like expressways making it difficult for them too stay open long term especially since prices have increased significantly since then). During this time period several other developers followed Hirschman's lead and started developing similar concepts although without any success
Brook Park was founded in 1824 by James Brooks. It was named for the brooks that run through it. The park is located in the town of Brookville, Ohio.
