Brook Park is a city in the northwestern corner of the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 36,711 at the 2010 census, making it the ninth-largest city in Ohio and one of its sixteenth-largest cities by population. Brook Park lies on the eastern edge of Cincinnati–Northern Kentucky metropolitan area, which has a Combined Statistical Area with a total population of 681,550 as of 2019. Brook Park was platted in 1828 and named for John Brook, an early settler. The first post office was established in 1830 and operated under the name "Cincinnati." In 1838, Brook Park became part of newly created Hamilton County and had its own government. In 1850, it become part of Dayton when that city was annexed by Cincinnati. The first railroad through Dayton was founded in 1855 and reached Brook Park four years later; this made Brook Park an important center for transportation during the 19th century. A new courthouse was built in 1870 and served as county seat until 1911 when it became national capital Washington D.C.. Brook Park experienced rapid growth during World War II due to its strategic location within distanceof major military installations such as Middletown Army Airfield on Northern Parkway (later Wright-Patterson Field)and Patton Airport on Southern Boulevard (now FirstEnergy Stadium). The number of residents grew from 16,000 to 80,000 between 1940 and 1945 alone; after the war ended however growth slowed down as many former military facilities were converted intoresidential areas or redeveloped into other businesses than airports/militaries

In 1966, Brook Park became home to the world's second commercial use of frozen watermelon (the other being Wrigley Field). The park also has a playground, tennis courts/greenhouses/basketball court etc., as well as a water fountain and amphitheater which are all used regularly by local businesses and residents alike during summertime events such as concerts or dances. The community has experienced several changes over time: from agricultural to industrial to light manufacturing to service jobs since it began growing up around transportation hubs like Akron and Cleveland proper (the two largest cities within driving distance of Brookpark). However today many locals still identify themselves with their rural roots – farming produce or raising livestock – though some have transitioned into new industries such as online sales or healthcare services. The state line at this point was defined by a long and dangerous piece of land known as the Great Lakes National Forest. On October 5, 1814, Ohioans voted to become one of only six states in the Union with a national railroad system. This decision helped spur development in what would become Brook Park. Brook Park was first settled by German immigrants in 1795-96. They named their new town after some friends they met while traveling through Prussia on their way to America. The first post office in Brook Park opened in 1800 and it operated until 1840. In 1814, Ohio voters passed an act establishing a national railroad system and giving its citizens the opportunity to invest their money in this new venture. As a result, Brook Park developed quickly as people started investing not just money but also time into building this important infrastructure for commerce and growth. Today, Brook Park is home to many businesses and residences that have been integral to its success over the years. Some of these businesses include First American Bank (established 1865), Dyers Supply (1908), Oberlin College's School of Business Administration (founded 1946) and numerous other organizations that have shaped BrookPark’s history over the years!
