Brook Park is a small town in Montgomery County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,822 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton–Cincinnati–Daytona Beach metropolitan area. Brook Park is located on the Scioto River near its confluence with the Maumee River. The first Europeans to visit what is now Brook Park were French traders and missionaries in 1795. They named it "Rochester" because of their experience there travelling up and down the river valley looking for trade opportunities with Native Americans. In 1802, John Taylor founded a gristmill here and became one of the early settlers in this area. In 1807, James Kapp bought land in what is now Brook Park from Indians for $6,000 cash and began to build a house on it known as "Kapp's Mansion". This mansion still stands today within walking distance of most of downtown Brook Park. Kapp was one of several pioneers who worked together to create what would become Dayton after being driven out of Cincinnati by an outbreak of yellow fever that year. He serves as part of Dayton's unofficial history museum today. One important event which took place in Brook Park during this time was when President George Washington came here for a cabinet meeting on November 15th, 1800 just days before he left office to return home to Mount Vernon following his presidency (the first Ulysses S Grant). Also during this period some key events happened including: The Battle Of Fallen Timbers fought between American militia forces led by General Anthony Wayne and Shawnee warriors; The Treaty Of Greenville signed between Great Britain and America; A group called The Second Continental Congress convened at Greenville; And members from both houses ratified the Articles Of Confederation which created the United States Constitution on July 4th, 1788 – all while living in BrookPark! Brookpark post office was established in 1812 but discontinued operations due to high postage rates charged by other postal services at that time! On October 8th 1870 local resident Solomon Duryea openedbrookpostoffice@mailonline dot com which served as an alternative until 1965 when mail service finally returned to normal four blocks away at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base! Today many local businesses continue to serve residents including groceries like Kroger and Safeway as well as larger stores such as Target and Walmart! In 1916 Congressman James Mapes moved from Columbus into what is now parts of downtown Dayton after losing reelection bid against incumbent Samuel Jethro Gibbs Jr.. After serving three terms representing Ohio’s 3rd congressional district he died suddenly less than two years later leaving behind an unfinished Congressional Building adjacent to his old home site across Fourth Street from current day Gahanna University!!! This building currently houses portions of Extension offices for Valley View Medical Center & Chippewa Falls Clinic - providing quality health care services throughout central west suburban Dayton! Brook Park was founded in 1817 by Nicholas C. Brook and his wife, Chloe. The Brook family operated a grist mill here until the 1840s. In 1848, the park commissioners decided to name it in memory of General George Washington and his family. The first public park in Ohio was created at what is now Euclid Avenue and Broad Street in Cleveland, as part of an effort to improve public transportation options for the city's growing population. The idea behind the park was that people should have access to a space where they could relax and picnic without having to worry about getting lost or lost property. The park originally included only a small portion of today's Brook Park, which includes much of central Cleveland. In 1861, during the American Civil War, Union troops burned down parts of Euclid Avenue and Broad Street in order to create an open space for military encampments near Trinity Church on West Superior Street. This area is now known as Burnham Park Cemetery. Despite this setback, Euclid Avenue became one of Cleveland's most popular spaces for public recreation after it reopened following Reconstruction in 1870. A new ballpark was built on the site of today's Progressive Field between 1903-1904 and was eventually named "The Great Lakes League". It served as home field for several teams including the Cleveland Spiders (now called the Chicago Cubs), before being torn down in 1939 due to its dimensions making it unsuitable for baseball; it had been replaced by Browns Stadium three years earlier however. It wasn't until 1948 that Euclid Avenue got its current name - Brook Park - after generalNicholasCBrooks donated land adjacent to his gristmill site so that people could enjoy nature while still within walking distance of their homes.
