The first firearms in Broadview Heights were pistols. The first pistol was made by John Brown and Sons of Philadelphia in 1836. It was a six-shot revolver that used the same ballistics as a musket. In 1845, George Washington Carver came to Broadview Heights and started a farm. Hebanthus, Inc., which is now known as Carver Farms, started out as a small seed business. In 1907, the store moved from its original location on North Green Street to what is now the southwest corner of Delaware Avenue and Central Boulevard. In 1912, the store became one of the four stores in town that opened at 12th and Delaware Streets. In 1925, all four of the stores closed their doors together due to financial troubles; however, they reopened one year later under new ownership with different names but similar goals: Neighborhood Market (now Community Markets), grocery (now called Metro Market), bakery (now called Baking Co.), and convenience store (now called Stop & Shop). The last store closed in 1984.
Broadview Heights is a town in Butler County, Ohio, United States. The population was 5,574 at the 2010 census. It is the smallest of the three towns in Butler County and only has a population of 3,831 as of 2017. The other two towns are Parma and West Mahoning. Broadview Heights began as a small farmstead on the east side of the river just north of present day I-70. In 1806 it became part of the new Northwest Territory when it was organized from parts ofohio and Michigan. The first permanent settler in what would become Broadview Heights was John Beasley who arrived in 1798 from Virginia with his wife and four children. He built a log cabin on the edge of what is now Greenfield Road. The village that developed around Broadview Heights began to take form after railroad construction passed through town in 1869-1870 connecting Cleveland with Cincinnati via Steele's Ferry Bridge over the Cuyahoga River south of downtown Cleveland. By 1870 there were about 50 homes and businesses in what would become Broadview Heights near wherepresent day I-70 exits off US Highway 20 (now called US Highway 12). By 1875 there were 4500 people living in Broadview Heights including 400 farmers, 100 mechanics, 50 blacksmiths, 25 teachers, 10 soldiers/officers, 10 worshipers at First Methodist Church (later Trinity Episcopal) on High Street and many others working out their affairs among themselves by letter room or card board system which continued until 1907 when wire communications made this type OF organization unnecessary

Broadview Heights is a town in Muskingum County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,902 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton Metropolitan Area. The name "Broadview" comes from a grant by General George Washington to the Reverend Drury Broadview in 1786. The first permanent settler in what is now BroadVIEW Heights was David Ellis who arrived in 1796. He and his wife Mary were the first white people born in what is now Muskingum County. David Ellis and his wife had four children: John, Mary (married to Ebenezer Higgins), Sarah (married to Nicholas Gibbs) and Abigail (married to Jacobus Van Deusen). In 1815, Nathan Bedford Forrest sent an invite for settlers from Kentucky to come upriver and claim land near where modern day Dayton would be founded some twenty years later. A group of men named Abram Browning responded and started building their homes on what would become known as Indian Hill Road today. They named their home "Bedford Heights". In 1820-21, another group of men by the name of Green came upriver and also built homes on Indian Hill Road. These early settlers were quite successful as they managed to get a patent for 500 acres (2 km²) of land around what is today BroadVIEW Heights Cemetery which included much of present day Muskingum County including parts of Dayton and Springfield Township including BroadVIEW Heights itself! The Village of BROADVIEW HEIGHTS was organized on November 3rd, 1834 when all portions east of Beaver Creek between High Street & I-75 opened for voting within one year after being created out of parts OF THE CITY OF DAYTON! The following year On December 12th & 13th both days entire streets openendashed with immediate inhabitants coming out & voting then putting questions on ballots making it OFFICIAL until called back into session by Govt.–This shows that this wasn't just some 'promotion' but actually took place legally! The school district that currently serves BroadVIEW Heights Public Schools began operation on September 15th 1912 when Middletown Township closed its schools due to lack Of Funds so that residents could be forced off their land for military service during World War I!!! This event removed a large chunk – if not all –of the male population from our community leaving only young women behind who became teachers/administrators thruout our educational system ever since!

During the 1990s and 2000s, Broadview Heights underwent gentrification and began to experience declining population rates. However, recent development has revitalized the neighborhood and its economy is based largely on commerce and services rather than agriculture or manufacturing.
