Broadview Heights is a neighborhood in the city of Cleveland, Ohio. The population was 11,821 at the 2010 census. It is bounded to the north by Euclid Avenue and to the east by Valley View Boulevard. To the south it is bordered by Mayfield Road and to the west by Wauwatosa Avenue. The first Europeans to visit Broadview Heights were members of an expedition led by George Washington during his 1799 trip through what is now Cleveland. They named their settlement "Newburgh," after New York City. In 1814, Rev. John Cranch founded a Methodist church in Broadview Heights. The following year, James Kapp organized a group of investors who purchased land in what is now Broadview Heights from Rev. Cranch for $2,000 cash plus 10% interest on each dollar they paid for it. After purchasing over , Kapp developed what are today known as areas 1-3 and 4-6 on Canfield Road between High Street and Woodland Drive which he called "The Highlands." He also built homes on parcels located off State Route 7 near present day I-71 and State Route 22 near present day Wauwatosa Avenue. In 1836, John Dennison bought a tract of land northwest ofpresent day Chardon Road from Nicholas Biddle for $10 per acre ($270 per mile). A decade later, Dennison served as mayor of Cleveland and donated part of this tract (now Quicken Loans Arena) to build a public school in broad view heights that would serve students from all sections of town including African Americans living along Canfield Rd., Indian reservations situated in Turnpike Rd., East Side residents living nearsite where Stuyvesant Hospital now stands and working class people living near Union Terminal Railroad Station." Kapp's Highland Park was one of several neighborhoods developed around Plain Dealer Printing Company's physical plant on Westlake Boulevard between Superior Ave./State Route 43rd Street/Canfield Rd./Waverly Ave./Broadview Blvd.-City Limits development that spanned multiple blocks into downtown Cleveland beginning in the early 1920s" It should be noted that these buildings were not all single family dwellings but rather consisted mostly of two story frame houses with small gardens or outbuildings attached - typical suburban housing patterns at this time

Broadview Heights is a census-designated place in Lucas County, Ohio, United States. The population was 5,827 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton–Dayville Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent settler in what would become Broadview Heights was George Haggerty in 1811. He built a cabin on the site of today's Haggerty Circle shopping center and named it "Hagerty." In 1826, John Brown and his family moved from Indiana to Clearfield Township and opened a general store there. In 1830, John A. Ireland arrived from Dublin,Ireland with his family and founded Irelandtown on the east side of Broadview Heights as their new home. The Irishtown post office operated until 1856 when it was replaced by Broomfield Post Office. In 1836, land developer Jabez Beechum purchased 4 square miles (10 km²) of land along Beaver Creek from David Southerland for $500 ($ Today: $). Beechum began construction on what would become Broadview Heights Village and named it after himself – "Beechum Blvd." Beechum's village became an important transportation hub for settlers who traveled toght to get farm products to market or went into business themselves. By 1840, Beechum had developed over 1 mile (1½ km) of streets and over 50 buildings including 3 churches and 10 residences. In 1845, James Laughlin Purchase bought 4 square miles (10 km²) of land north of present day Broadview Heights Village from Beechum for $2,000 ($ Today: $). Laughlin began construction on what would become Highwood Lane which became one of Dayton's most valuable commercial areasdue to its proximity to schools, churches, businesses and other amenities that attracted settlers throughout the area during the mid-19th century. By 1850 Highwood Lane had been widened into a two-lane road with homespun storefronts along its length while other residential blocks were being erected along current day Beavercreek Road northeast of Highwood Lane
The neighborhood of Broadview Heights, Ohio was founded in 1812 by a group of American Revolutionary War veterans. The area now includes the neighborhoods of Cleveland and Akron.
