In 1847, John Brown and Company began manufacturing ammunition in Broadview Heights, Ohio. Ammunition production continued until 1865 when the company went out of business. The store closed in 1868 but was reopened in 1870 by George M. Smith as the first gunsmith shop in Broadview Heights. In 1886, the Smith shop became a part of Singer Sewing Machine Company and continued to produce cartridges until it closed in 1945. Ammunition production resumed in 1951 at American Legion Armory #2 and continues to this day. The manufacture of ammunition has been a part of America since its founding. Broadview Heights is a small town located in the state of Ohio. The population was 1,887 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland-Akron Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in Broadview Heights was John Cates who arrived in 1810. During the American Revolutionary War, Cates' family fought for the British side and were rewarded with land in central Ohio. In 1795, George Clinton bought 640 acres (240 hectares) of land east of present-day Broadview Heights from John Cates and moved his family to what is now known as Clinton Township. The area became an agricultural district and cattle raising continued to be a major industry until after World War II when it shifted to manufacturing. In 1865, John Bowers founded Ohio's second largest cotton gin on what is now State Road 71 near where he lived until his death in 1924. From 1865 to 1922, Broadview Heights had its own post office which was based at 419 Maple Street. On November 15, 1920, the village of Broadview Heights merged with Cleveland's other villages (Chesterfield and Euclid) forming the Cleveland metropolitan area under then-Mayor James Haggerty's leadership. During their time as municipalities, both Chesterfield and Euclid experienced significant growth; by 1930 they had over 20 churches and 200 businesses including several banks that moved from their original locations within town limits into new buildings on Elmwood Avenue between High Street and Fifth Avenue). However, due to limitations placed upon them by Greater Cleveland through its suburbanization efforts during this period - such as being unable to expand further out into rural areas - Chesterfield & Euclid essentially stagnated while Broadview Heights grew rapidly into one of northeastern Ohio's most distinguished communities for social services facilities (a trend also seen throughout much of Akron during this time), professional athletes (the city produced two world champion quarterbacks –Cleveland Browns’ Johnny Manziel in 2013 and Baltimore Ravens’ Joe Flacco in 2014), medical professionals (two doctors became nationally famous because of their work here: Drs Benjamin Spock and David Lange), upscale retail stores (including one built by Sears founder Sam Walton), high-end restaurants (Euclid experienced steady growth as a bedroom community while Chesterfield only increased marginally),[1] as well as numerous parks including Olmsted Park which still boasts some excellent examples of Craftsman architecture more than 130 years later[2]. By 2000,[3] however, struggling economic conditions were beginning to take hold throughout much Northeast Ohio,[4] resulting in many jobs moving out or dying off within broad view heights over that decade([5]), culminating with about 50% decline overall employment among all municipalities across northeast Ohio between 2002-2010.[6],[7] With few exceptions all these neighborhoods have since seen significant redevelopment or reestablishment since then; although some residents may still refer to themselves generally speaking as "broadVIEW" residents despite less than half today living there originally.[8][9][10]: 587

Broadview Heights is a city in Sandusky County, Ohio, United States. The population was 8,821 at the 2010 census. The city was founded in 1837 by Scots-Irish immigrants from Ulster who had settled in Northern Ireland. The original town of Broadview Heights was located on the west side of what is now Sandusky Boulevard and Main Street. The first post office in Broadview Heights was established in 1839. In 1849, the town voted to become a city and erected its first building, which still stands today (now used as an apartment complex). In 1861, the first school opened in Broadview Heights and remained operational until 1949. One of the early mayors of Broadview Heights was Wm. Fenton Goodrich. In 1863, John Davenport donated land to make way for a new factory park that would produce cotton goods for eastern markets; this site would later become Lucasville Mall. In 1875, brickyards were built along what is now State Route 277 south of downtown Broadview Heights; these brickyards remain one of the most important economic engines driving growth in broad view heights over time. Today's skyline seen from many parts of town can be traced back to when streets such as Third Avenue and Euclid Avenue were widened and upgraded beginning around 1930 following construction of homes on much larger lots than exists today on smaller blocks with less development potential – making broad view heights one of America's "old" towns/cities according to some observers. Additionally: several large businesses have sprung up since then including PNC Financial Services Center (2005), FirstEnergy Corporation (2007), Sears Holdings Corporation (2015) - all thanks to suburban development adjacent to schools and other retail amenities within walking distance!

Broadview Heights was founded in 1792 by Timothy Broad and his wife, Anne. The area became a center for learning and culture, with a library and theater being built in the early 1800s. In the 1920s, Broadview Heights was known as one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Ohio. It was during this time that some of the most notorious criminals in Ohio lived and operated their businesses here.
