Brecksville is a town in the U.S. state of Ohio, located about 15 miles south of Cleveland on the Scioto River. The population was 8,746 at the 2010 census. The first European to set foot in what is now Brecksville was George Washington in 1792 while he was surveying land for his new nation. In 1812, John Cranch founded Cincinnati as an outgrowth of his survey of that area and named it after Brecksville, England." "In 1814, James Kapp bought 2 acres (0.8 km²) of land east of what is now Brecksville from John Cranch and laid out a small village called Kappstown on the Scioto River..Kappstown became one of the most important settlements in eastern Ohio because it had a store and post office and access to transportation facilities." During World War II, parts of Brecksville were home to many factories that produced food for troops overseas. One such factory was Wurthwerke which made armored vehicles for the Allies during WWII. Many homes still stand today from that time period and are often used as visitor attractions or research tools by historians interested in wartime history in Brecksville."

Brecksville is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio, located on the border of Lucas County and Hamilton County. As of the 2010 census, Brecksville had a population of 97,176. It is the fourth-largest city in Greater Cleveland after Cleveland (population: 717,700), Akron (population: 248,700), and Buffalo (population: 174,400). The name "Brecksville" was first given to it by General James W. Breckenridge in 1814 while he was stationed there during the War of 1812 as part of his general staff. The town was platted in 1824 by Captain George Hays and named for John C. Breckenridge who served as an aide-de-camp tournal Ulysses S. Grant during the American Civil War at points near Cincinnati and Louisville before being transferred to Brecksville in 1865 when that area became part of the newly created Dayton section of Ohio. The railroads arrived soon thereafter and pushed settlement eastward into what is now Lucas County from where it began growing rapidly due to its location on two major routes - one running north from Toledo via Youngstown to Canada City and another running south from Canada City through Painesville to Mentor Junction then across Mentor Junction onto the Erie Canal which brought goods southwest to Chicago before reaching Cincinnati via New York City or Pittsburgh). In 1850, Samuel Morse established a telegraph line between Cincinnati and Detroit using land grant data that he had acquired from General Nathan Bedford Forrest during their previous conflict over control of Creek Nation lands east of Louisville.). By 1860, over 50% of all product traffic arriving at Great Lakes ports through Lake Erie passed through Brecksville including 40% destined for Cleveland! During World War II much local production took place at nearby Wright Arsenal making munitions like ammunition used by both sides; some 8 million pounds were produced here alone! However today only 1/3rd century old relics remain from this once vibrant community including dozens plus homes built between 1840-1860 still standing with full roofs!
Brecksville was founded in 1792 by John Brecks and his brother, James. The Brecksville Post Office was established in 1801. It was discontinued in 1903. In 1830, the town of Brecksville was annexed by the village of Bedford. The village had no post office until it opened in 1836. The first settler in Brecksville, Edward Cook, arrived in 1800 and built a house on the present site of the city hall. Cook's son, Isaac Cook, began to erect buildings on what is now State Street in 1834. By 1840, there were enough people living near state street to establish a government and a schoolhouse on that spot. From this point forward until 1865 when the area became part of the city of Cleveland,Brecksville functioned as an unincorporated community with its own government and school system
