Brecksville is a small town in Perry County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Akron–Canton–Middletown, OH Combined Statistical Area. The first people to inhabit what is now Brecksville were the Wyandot and Pottawatomie Indians. In 1795, a group of settlers from West Virginia arrived and founded the community of Saginaw on the east side of the Scioto River. The settlers named their new community after Samuel Breckinridge, an American Revolutionary War hero who had fought for Virginia. In 1824, a group of farmers from Delaware County voted to move to Perry County and name it Brecksville in honor of George Washington Breckinridge. In 1850, when Ohio became a state, Brecksville was located in Summit Township. On March 12, 1854, Brecksville incorporated as a village under the provisions of the General Assembly Act No. 9; it did not become part of Perry County until 1870 when that county was created from parts of Summit and Medina Townshipships. The first mayor was Hiram Ayer (1850-55). On July 16th 1890 local residents organized into an agricultural society with Wm Haggerty as president and James Melson as treasurer which purchased 5 acres (20 hectares) on High Street in present day downtownBrecksville for use as their collective farmstead known then as "The Gables". This site would later become home to Western Reserve University's Dowling Schoolnorthwest corner property formerly occupied bythe Armoury Blockhouse built 1814 by Major John Armstrong during his tenure as Commandant General US Army Northwest Territory

The Peabody & Browning Pistol was actually designed for agricultural purposes but its design caught on quickly due to its simplicity and ease of manufacture. It wasn’t until 1911 that handguns began appearing featuring breech-loading weapons such as this one, making airguns one of the earliest forms of self-defense weaponry available on Earth!

The Winchester Brothers were the first to mass-produce airguns using a gas-operated system, which allowed for more consistent accuracy and less recoil than earlier models. Their airgun design soon became known as the Winchester rifle, after their company. In 1927, the Winchester Repeating Arms Company was founded by Samuel Colt to produce firearms based on the original Winchester rifle design. The company continued production of its own rifles until 1938.
Brecksville is a city in Potter County, Ohio, United States. The population was 12,542 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area. Brecksville was founded by English settlers in 1814. The first town meeting was held on November 3, 1814. In 1830, Brecksville became the county seat of Potter County and it remained that for a period of time until 1903 when Athens was made the county seat again. On January 1, 1907, Brecksville became an independent city and has since continued to grow rapidly with over 20% growth in population from 2000-2010 alone.
Brecksville was founded in 1827 by the Brecksville Purchase Company. The company bought land on the Scioto River from the Wyandots, and built a depot and other buildings. In 1829, the company formed a town charter, and named it after breckenridge county in Kentucky. Brecksville grew rapidly during the 1830s and 1840s, with businesses such as a tannery, grocery store, cotton gin, post office, and hotel opening up. By 1850, the town had over 1,000 residents. In 1865, Brecksville became a county seat of Harrison County.
