Blue Ash, Ohio is a small town located in the state of Ohio. The population was 5,811 at the 2010 census. The name Blue Ash comes from the color of the trees in the town and its namesake creek. The first settler in what is now Blue Ash was Issac Hicks who arrived in 1792. Hicks named his community after himself and his wife Sarah which means "place where blue ash grows." The growth of Blue Ash was slow due to lack of resources until 1836 when a group of men led by James A. White discovered coal seams near present-day Blue Ash. The company that extracted coal from these seams named themselves Cleveland Coal and Iron Company but soon changed their name to United States Coal and Coke Company because they were part of the United States government's property grab for mineral rights in western Pennsylvania and Indiana. As development increased around BlueAsh, businesses opened up such as grocery stores, dry goods stores, Attucks Furniture Store, Big Mule Brewery (now Alewife Brewing), lumber yards, churches, schools and other businesses. In 1922 an airfield was developed on Cemetery Hill just east of present-day Blue Ash for use by military planes conducting training flights over Cincinnati during World War I. And four years later an ice cream factory opened up on Elm Street called Hopps Creamery & Ice Cream which remain open today as a museum dedicated to this business dynasty with displays about local history as well as contemporary recipes from inside the factory itself! Today there are also several small shops dotting Main Street serving local cuisine including Hayes' Bakery which has been familyowned since 1906; Joe's Pizza; Pizzeria Bella Italiano; Local Church Supplies; GRAPEFRESH GELatinized Lumber LLC - making blue ash one of America's most vibrant agricultural communities!

Blue Ash, Ohio is a small town in the southwestern corner of Ohio. It was founded by surveyors in 1811 as Blue Ash Township, and became part of the larger Cincinnati metropolitan area. The population was 5,812 at the 2010 census. The community is located on the eastern edge of unincorporated areas of Hamilton County and is bordered to the south by Green Valley Township, to the north by Springboro Township, and to the east by Mentor Township. The first settler in Blue Ash was John Cleveland who built a cabin on what is now Water Street in 1811. By 1830 there were over 100 people living in Blue Ash Township. In 1837 David Estes organized a Methodist church here and it remained an active congregation until 1959. manufacturing industry began arriving from Cincinnati during the late 1800s which led to many new businesses opening up here throughout that decade including foundry companies such as Pfeiffer & Sons Iron Works (1892-1948), J.B. Metzger & Sons Paper Mill (1905-2005), Fenton Glass Company (1920-2007) and Henschel Corporation (1927). In 1911 Orangeville Manufacturing Company started making radios here which led to other local companies starting up such as American Radio Corporation (ART) which made radios for General Electric in 1948, First National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) which started broadcasting from Green Valley Elementary School starting November 15th 1951 with its first broadcast being "The Greeting" on channel 3; WLW beginning broadcasting from Great Bend High School on October 12th 1957; WMAL beginning broadcasting from Moreland Middle School starting September 9th 1962; all this activity helped bring more people and businesses into town making it one of most vibrant communities in Greater Cincinnati during that time period! Today Blue Ash still has many strong businesses including several hospitals such as University Hospitals Medical Center - Hamilton County United States Hospital Authority - OH (UHCA), Mercy HealthCare System - Columbus Division (MHSCD) - Nationwide Children's Hospital(NCHC); Genoa Pizza Super Store - West Chesterfield Plaza Shopping Center - 4665 Vine Rd.; Rite Aid Pharmacy Inc.(RAPI); Post office(POP); public schools include: Great Bend High School(GBH), Mentor Elementary School(MEK), Springboro Intermediate School(SIS), Western Hills Intermediate School(WHIS), Orangeville Middle Schools(OMS2) – also home to numerous smaller private schools including Our Lady Of Lourdes Academy; Applebees restaurant ; various types of retail stores including stores specializing in autos/home repair services, medical supplies, apparel etc., along with several bars/restaurants within walking distance of downtown!
The area now known as Blue Ash, Ohio was settled by Europeans in the late 1600s. The first European to settle in what is today Blue Ash, Ohio was Nicholas Hennepin, who came overland from Canada in 1799. He and his family built a small cabin on the banks of the River Muskingum. In 1802, John Cranch made a landing on the current site of Blue Ash and began trading with the local Native Americans. By 1810, BlueAsh had a population of about 20 people. In 1812, General William Manning bought land at what is now Mahoning Valley Airport for $5,000 dollars and started developing it into the present-day city of Cleveland. In 1815, Captain James Ketchum founded Ketchum County on part of what is now Greenfield Township. On October 15th of that year, Ketchum donated 3 acres (1 hectare) to be used as a courthouse square in honor of his friend President James Kieftain. The square was named after him and remains so today. In 1830, Cincinnati absorbed all of Mahoning Valley into its boundaries and changed its name to Cincinnati proper. However, due to English common law restrictions on double names – which applied only to men – Mahoning Valley continued to be calledBlue Ash until 1840 when it became Mahoning County again under Cincinnati’s jurisdiction
