In 1907, Bexley, Ohio was the site of the first optical equipment store in the United States. The store was started by David Levy and his partner Charles H. White. In 1923, Levy sold the business to Harry Weinstock. In 1951, Weinstock merged with Katz Optical Company to form Katz-Weinstock Corporation. The company continued to produce optical equipment until it ceased operations in 1984.

In 1897, Ohio's first optical store was opened in Bexley by Dr. Samuel H. Smith and his son-in-law, Mr. George W. Richards. The store became a national chain and offered a wide variety of optical products including binoculars, microscopes, telescopes, phonographs and radios. In 1938, the company moved to its current location on North Main Street in Bexley with over 100 employees. In 1951, they merged with General Electric Company to form GE Optical Corporation which continued operations until 1994 when it merged into laser technology company LSI Incorporated
Bexley is a town in Lucas County, Ohio, United States. The population was 10,824 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland–Akron–Canton, OH-TV market area. Bexley was founded in 1810 by John Bexley and his family. The first school in Bexley was built on the current site of the First Baptist Church in 1812. In 1816, Bexley became a village and had its own post office. The village merged with the town of Euclid in 1836 to form the present-day town of Bexley. The first courthouse in Bexley was built in 1853 and replaced an earlier structure that had been destroyed by a fire. The courthouse is now used as a library branch. In 1907, construction began on what is now known as "The John Lennon House", which served as the home of both John Lennon and Yoko Ono until their break-up six years later. In 1969, Bexley became one of three towns (the others were North Royalton and Bedford Township) to be incorporated into the new city of Cleveland when it was created from portions of five separate townships. In 2007, two homes dating back to 1830 were added to the National Register of Historic Places for their significance in local history: One located on Main Street and one located on Elm Street near Prospect Park Lake*. These homes are known collectively as "The Hawthorne Mansion".* *Two additional homes from early American settlers have also been added to NRHP listings but have not yet been formally registered; these homes are known collectively as "The Herndon Mansion" due to their location within walking distance of George Washington University's McCormick School Of Medicine.* *As per definition stated by NRHP*, "Each property listed here represent only a portion (but not all)of[its] historical value." As such, it is unknown if any further properties will be added soon or if there are any other significant historical sites associated with Bexley that remain unpublicized.*

Bexley, Ohio is a small town located in the northwestern part of Ohio. The population was 1,857 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Akron metropolitan area. The town was first established in 1810 and named for John Bexley, an early settler. The first school in Bexley was built on the banks of the Cuyahoga River. In 1814, the town voted to become a city and it has since grown considerably with its current population of over 2,000 people. Bexley is home to many local businesses and organizations such as Bexley community hall, which was designed by architects Elder and Haggerty in 1922; Beechwood Baptist Church; Stonington United Methodist Church; Bexley High School (now known as "Merrill Hall"); and several parks including Appalachian Hills Park, Glenbrook Park and Bearcats Lake Park. The town also contains several heritage-listed buildings such as Beechwood Mansion and Merrill Hall.
Bexley, Ohio was founded in 1814 by John Bexley and his wife Mary. The town was named for the Battle of Bexley Bridge, which took place on February 9, 1814. The town was originally a part of Hamilton County. It became its own county in 1907.
