Bexley is a city in northeastern Ohio, United States. The population was 7,070 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland-Akron-Canton, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Europeans to visit Bexley were French traders and missionaries in 1789. A post office was established in 1807, and by 1824 it had become a town. The town's location on the main line of the Erie Canal made it an important commercial center for much of central Ohio during the 19th century. In 1868, Bexley became part of the newly formed national district of Cuyahoga County; however, it remained officially separate until 1907 when it merged with other towns within Cuyahoga County. Bexley is located at (41.860902, -83.810714). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of , all land. As of 2010, there were 7,070 people living in Bexley proper and 1,994 living in unincorporated portions thereof annexed from other municipalities or counties within Cuyahoga County as well as 823 people who live on select military base properties outside Bexley limits but within Cleveland proper boundaries (about 1/5th of total population). As per 2008 American Community Survey data available from demographia Inc., there are now more Hispanics than any other race/ethnicity group in BexLEY proper: 27%. This has been especially true since 2000 when Hispanic immigration rates have exploded outpacing white migration rates throughout most of this country due largely to Mexican drug cartels' efforts to smuggle cocaine into America using various methods including boat transportation across Lake Erie and through Canadian ports such as Montreal and Buffalo – both among major shipping points for drugs entering America through Canada – rather than travelling through Mexico City or even Central America where they would be screened by U.S Customs officials before being allowed into our country legally! Bexley, Ohio is a town in the southeastern corner of Ohio, United States. The population was 9,723 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland-Akron-Canton, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Cuyahoga County courthouse is located in Bexley. The first permanent Europeans to visit what is now Bexley were Frenchmen who landed there on July 4th, 1796 while exploring the area as part of a survey for a new route to New Orleans via the Great Lakes. A year later, British officers and men established Fort Detroit here after successfully repelling an American attack on that fortress during the War of 1812. In 1814, Ohio passed a law creating three townships within Cuyahoga County: Vestal Township (now Delaware), Byron Township (now Shaker Heights), and Bexley Township (now Euclid). The townships were named for George Washington Carver, president of Harvard University and one of America's leading agriculturists; chemist Joseph Priestly; and industrialist Solomon Westcott. For years it was thought that Euclid Boulevard was actually named after General John Adams MacArthur who fought in the Battle of Bunker Hill which took place nearby on April 19th 1775 – until it was realized that General MacArthur never actually visited or lived in Euclid! In 1892 when Cleveland became an incorporated city with its own government, Bexley voted to become part of that city as well but with its own name - “Cleveland Park” until 1907 when it reverted back to its original name again due to lack of support from residents. However locals still refer to themselves as "Bexleys" even though they live in other municipalities including Cleveland proper and Medina County outside of Cleveland's borders! As much as locals may love their hometown moniker "Bexley", some would rather be remembered fondly for all those times they helped out their neighbors throughout their entire community stretching from Boardman Road right up until today at Fifth Third Field just off Springboro Road!
Bexley was founded in 1814 by the brothers Ezekiel and Jeremiah Bexley. The town was named after the biblical city of Babylon. The Bexleys were early landowners in the area, and their home at 419 Saginaw Street remains a landmark today. In 1825, the Bexleys donated land for what is now St. John's Episcopal Church. The church was dedicated in 1830. In 1867, the town became part of Cleveland County.
