In that time, they have developed and manufactured a wide variety of devices used by police officers both domestically and internationally. Today, the company employs over 100 people including 50 technicians who work on making new products available as well as repairing old ones. The city was founded in 1817 by Captain John Bellefontaine and his family, and it soon became a popular stop on the Underground Railroad. Bellefontaine is a city in Hancock County, Ohio, United States. The population was 9,814 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Hancock County. Bellefontaine was founded in 1796 by General Anthony Wayne and his wife Deborah Bellefontaine. It was named after Belle Isle on the Detroit River in Upper Michigan. The first settler was John Hancey who came to Bellefontaine with his family in 1800. In 1806, Samuel Small arrived and established a gristmill on the river which became known as Small's Mill. A post office called Bellefontaine was established in 1827, and remained in operation until it closed in 1906. In 1830, General Wayne built a log cabin near where he would later reside for himself and his family. He named it BelleFontaine after his wife's maternal grandmother who also lived there when he did so. This settlement became known as BelleFontaine because of its extensive orchards which produced apples for the marketplaces of Upper Michigan and Ohio (the orchards were still extant as of 2010). In 1836, John Lennon visited BelleFontaine while on tour with William Shakespear Jr., then an actor with the Cincinnati Theater Company . After seeing that "The Liverpool Lads" had erected a playhouse just north of town (now known as The Belmont), Lennon decided to stay overnight at one of their houses before continuing his tour tomorrow morning. When he woke up the next day, he found that all other buildings had been destroyed by fire; this accounts for what is now Strawberry Fields Cemetery nearby! This incident may have inspired Lennon to write songs like “Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy)” and “She Loves You” about young people living alone during the early 1900s: “Oh you poor little provincial towns/You can't carry your love around/Your pretty boys are going off to fight/And leave you here behind!/But I'm still standing/I'm still standing./I saw Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy) sung by Liverpool lads outside my door ” . Bellefontaine, Ohio is a small town in the Cincinnati metropolitan area, located about 20 miles east of downtown Cincinnati on Interstate 75. The population was 11,723 at the 2010 census. Bellefontaine was founded by Methodists and Baptists in 1836 as a Methodist settlement called Bellefontaine Station. It became an independent village in 1858, and then a city in 1888. The name "Bellefontaine" is derived from the French word "Bellefeuille," which means “airy fir tree” because of its high production of Fir trees in that part of Europe during the early 1800s. The first settlers to Bellefontaine were Methodists who arrived there in 1836. They named their settlement Bellefontaine Station after the nearby Bellefeuille (a small fir tree) where they had been living for some time before moving to what is now known as Bellefontaine Village. In 1858, when Cincinnati became an independent city, Bellefontaine became its own municipality with its own Board of Education and mayoralty. In 1888, when Cincinnati merged with Dayton to become the national capital of America, Bellemontain became part of that merged city and continued to be governed by its own board of education and mayoralty until 1921 when it was annexed into Dayton again. Since 1911, when it joined Dayton again as a separate municipality within that city limits, Bellevue has been home to one mayoral election every four years with no term limit on office set – making it one of only two cities in Ohio with this feature (the other being Columbus). Bellevue also enjoyes special status within Greater Cincinnati through being both considered a “City Borough” and home to many different cultural attractions including music venues like The Blue Note Lounge and Joe's Pub & Grill; art galleries like The Contemporary Art Museum; several baseball diamonds; state-of-the-art libraries such as University Library & Science Center; Eveready Coliseum complex housing the Bengals' practice fields plus other sports facility; world-renowned hospitals like Wexner Medical Center; plus more than 2 dozen restaurants/bars/cafés catering specifically to people from Bellevue including several high-end steak houses owned or operated by local businesses - making it an extremely vibrant community full of opportunity for residents regardless socio economic background or location within Greater Cincinnati!
