Bellefontaine, Ohio is located in the northeast corner of the state of Ohio, about 20 miles west of Cleveland. It is a small town with a population of about 8,000 people. The Bellefontaine gun shop has been in business since 1892. According to the store’s history, it was started by two brothers, John and Frank Bellefontaine. The first guns that were bought at the Bellefontaine gun shop were pistols. In 1892, they began selling rifles as well. At that time, they had three employees and sold rifles by mail order as well as through their own store. From 1903 until 1934, they also sold shotguns and hunting accessories. In 1933, when World War II started, the Bellefontaine gunshop closed its doors for good but reopened in 1945 under new ownership and continued to sell firearms until 1999 when it went out of business again. Today, the shop still operates as a souvenir store called The Gun Shop Museum which sells weapons dating back to 1888 including some from before World War I and World War II.

However, since guns began appearing even earlier than this, there is little evidence that any form of switch existed before 1795 when Pierre-Simon Laplace invented his ownswitch design[4]. Laplace's invention allowed people (even without yeomanry)to operate cannons with ease by replacing several small parts with one large part which facilitated better aiming.[5] It wasn't until 1854 when Nikolaus Meinhof developed a similar design calledthe Meinhof Switch[6], which allowed soldiers on both sides during World War I access to artillery weaponry without having to remove their helmets[7]. Additionally, other inventors changed various aspects or designs within existing switch designs over time culminating in 1892 when Adolph Hitler patented his owngunswivel system[8][9]. This patent specifically mentions using an adjustable pivot point on either side allowing for increased range or accuracy when firing rifles grenade launchers or machineguns[10][11]. Today's guns use electronic cocking mechanisms which means that instead of needing someone to rotate an entire firearm around one specific point (or sometimes two points), many rifles now feature several interchangeable barrel/stock rotations known as "lockouts". Bellefontaine, Ohio is located in Ashland County. It was founded in 1814 by George Washington and his family as a trading post on the Great Lakes. In 1895, Bellefontaine became a city after it was merged with neighboring towns of Ironton and Portsmouth.

Bellefontaine began as a log cabin community in 1824 and grew to become a thriving town with over 1,000 residents by 1830. The town was named after Bellefleuve, France, where Napoleon Bonaparte declared himself emperor in 1804. In 1868, Bellefontaine became the county seat of Mahoning County and remains so today. The growth of Bellefontaine led to development of nearby suburbs that continue to call Bellefontaine their home today. Today, much of what once made up Bellefontaine has been preserved as historic district or parks including: Park Avenue Elementary School (now part of Lenox Hill Academy), Beechwood Cemetery (), West Side Baptist Church (), and Parkland Methodist Episcopal Church (). Many other buildings from when Bellemontain was a bustling settlement have also been preserved or are now used for housing or business purposes. The original logging road which entered present-day Bellefontaine from Sylvania ran through what is now downtown; it was later widened and renamed Park Avenue after General John A.. Park, one of the earliest settlers in the area and an early advocate for white settlement in this region. Today's park features interpretive signs explaining how local pioneer families managed to survive against difficult conditions while developing such an important commercial center near the Scioto River during its early years.
Bellefontaine was founded in 1786 by Swedish immigrants, as a small log cabin settlement on the edge of a forest. The first settler, David Bellefontaine, named his community after the pretty town of Belleville in France. In 1811, the town was renamed Bellefontaine after General Anthony Wayne and it became an important trading post on the Great Lakes region. By 1818, Bellefontaine had a population of 200 people and was known for its agriculture and trade. In 1836, the town's name was changed to Corydon because of its location at the mouth of the Cuyahoga River. The population decreased during the 1830s due to natural disasters such as floods and epidemics. However, by 1840 Corydon had a population of 350 people and was an important stop on road trips between Cleveland and Detroit. In 1868, Corydon became part of Cleveland when it became part of Ohio Statehood.
Bellefontaine, Ohio is a city in and the county seat of Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. The population was 43,554 at the 2010 census. This small town lies about 20 miles (32 km) east of Cleveland on the southern edge of Lake Erie. Bellefontaine was founded in 1824 by French Canadian settlers as a trading post on the Great Lakes region's eastern border with Canada. In 1836, it became part of the newly created Cuyahoga County and its name changed to Bellefontaine in honor of then-President James K. Polk. Bellefontaine has been an agricultural center for many years and today is home to a number of large manufacturing plants such as Alcoa Aluminum Company, DuPont de Nemours & Co., Canon Inc., Schlumberger plc., and Wabash Steel Works. A number of small businesses also operate in Bellefontaine including a grocery store, bank branch, dry goods store, restaurant/barbecue joint and several taxi services.
