Bellefontaine, Ohio is one of the most notable locations in United States firearm history. It was once a center for gun manufacturing and sales. The Colt revolver company was founded here in 1851, and the area became known as "The Gun Belt." Over 1,500 pistols were manufactured at Bellefontaine during its heyday. In 1968, the town was renamed Bellefontaine-Warren after Representative Bob Warren of Ohio's 6th District. Since then, the town has seen a increasing number of gun manufacturers and dealers. Bellefontaine is home to a number of gun pouches, including the Bellefontaine Gun Pouch Company. The company was founded in 1887 by William Bellefontaine and his wife Anna. The Bellefontaine Gun Pouch Company produced a wide variety of firearms pouches, including revolvers, shotguns, rifles, and handguns. In 1919, the Bellefontaine Gun Pouch Company merged with the American Pistol Corporation to form the American Pistol Association.
Bellefontaine is a town in Jefferson County, Ohio, United States. The population was 5,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area. Bellefontaine is located on the bank of the Scioto River. Bellefontaine was founded by couples from Bellefonte and Paris in 1824 as a farmstead on land that was then part of what is now Ottawa Township. In 1830, the couple named John Stephenson settled here and built a log cabin which remains standing today. In 1836, James Ahern purchased this property from Stephenson for $1,000. He had started out as an engraver in Cincinnati and brought his skills to Bellefontaine where he continued to make beautiful prints until his death in 1857. In 1865, Jno Wistar moved to Bellefontaine with his wife Sarah and their six children after purchasing land here from John Stephenson Jr.. They erected a small frame house which still stands today – it has been called “The Wistar House” since its construction (it was actually built by members of the Wistar family). Their five children – Lucy Cuthbert (1866-1925), James Wistar (1868-1937), Theophilus Wistar (1870-1966), Edward Ahern (1872-1948), Nellie Hildebrandt (1875-1976) – all worked together at home or at nearby factories during their formative years; later they went on to attend college together and marry into other families. Sarah succeeded her husband when he died in 1867; she also operated a millinery shop adjacent to their house until her death in 1925. After her death, four daughters took over running the business: Clara Pemberton (1920-1991), Bonnie Freeman Hiller(1923-2002), Harriet Bemis(1945-) and Kathy King Coleman(1968-) who currently manage it as Jean & Company store which opened its doors for business in 1978 after being closed for many years due to damage caused by Hurricane Amos; prior to that it was known as The Gable Innkeeper’s Shop/Bellefontaine Store/. Today there are only two remaining original buildings left standing on Main Street: One dating back to 1830 and once used as a bakery before becoming an inn; now known as “The Old Mill” while one date back even further and served as an early post office before becoming abandoned several years ago but has recently been restored thanks to donations from local residents Bellefontaine experienced some significant growth during World War II with servicemen coming through town looking for work opportunities; many homes were requisitioned by military forces and converted into barracks or housing units After the war ended, much of BelleFontaine’s growth came due to industrial development with new businesses such as plastics Manufacturing plants opening up around town while others such as grocery stores followed suit including Jean & Company which first opened its doors in 1978 Many people have come through town over the years whether it be professionals such as attorneys or engineers working on projects downrange or everyday people like parents drop off their kids at school here or pick them up afterwards; everyone who has entered this community has made an impact either positively or negatively both inside and outside of Belle Fontain

This invention allowed gunmen to keep their pistols safe during long fights without having them cluttered up on their person. It also made it easier for soldiers to transport their firearms when needed. Guns continued becoming more sophisticated over time, and as such, gun pouches also grew more complex. By 16th century AD, pistol holders had become common within armies across Europe. These holders would use straps or clasps to secure their guns onto the pockets of clothing or other garments. This type of holster was known as a “pouch” because it typically held two or three rounds of ammunition at a time – much like an actual pouch you might find inside an armament belt today! In fact, some historians believe that these early gun pouches may have been inspired by traditional handbags used by women at this time! With advances in technology came new designs for handgun holsters – ones that could accommodate larger firearms with greater stability while being easy enough to carry around with you wherever you went! By 18th century AD, holster designers had started adding Straps and Pockets along one side of the holster for additional storage capacity (known as a “breaching pocket”). Additionally, some shooters began using elastic bands or cords instead of straps for securement purposes – making these holsters even easier and faster to take on and off! In 1955, general manager of the Athens County Fairgrounds Frank Semon opened up what would become Belle Fontaines first golf course- now known as Rosedale Golf Course-. This course quickly became one of the most popular in Athens County due to its challenging but fair layouts and excellent value for money. Since its inception, Belle Fontaines has seen many changes both within itself and within Athens County as a whole. Many important people have lived or worked here including Bob Neyland (football coach at Tennessee), Drayton Greenleaf (founder of American Weigh Scales), Govt agent Harry Beauregard (brother of Confederate General Robert E.) Lee Sr., Driscoll Brothers bakery founders John & Louise Beasley(John served time in prison for arson)& Joe Donatelli (co-founder with brothers Tom & Jerry Donatelli of Jell-O). These residents have helped make Belle Fontaine one of the most vibrant small towns in central Ohio!
Bellefontaine is located in the village of Bellefontaine, Ohio and was first settled in 1812. The town was named for Belle Fontaine, a Frenchwoman who donated land to the Village of Bellefontaine. The first post office was established in 1814, and the first store was built in 1816. In 1824, the village of Bellefontaine merged with the town of Bellefontaine. The name change came about because of an effort by residents to rename all their properties after famous women from France.
