Bellefontaine, Ohio is a small, rural town located in the Greater Cincinnati area. It dates back to 1828 and has been home to a gunsmiths shop since that time. The first gun mag in Bellefontaine was the "Kentucky Rifle Review" which was published by local farmer, John Berry. In 1836, Bellefontaine became the site of the first annual fair in Butler County and the "Bellefontaine Gun Show" was held there from 1837-1839. In 1859, Bellefontaine was renamed for General Ulysses S. Grant after he served as President of the United States. The population of Bellefontaine peaked at 400 in 1880 but then slowly declined over the following decades due to poor economic conditions and competition from other towns within Butler County. However, when prohibition (a law prohibiting anyone under 21 from owning a firearm) replaced alcohol as a legal substance in Ohio in 1919, Bellefontane began to experience an increase in visitors and businesses due to its proximity to both illegal enterprises and speakeasies. By 1930, it had fallen victim to Depression-era rationing and decline in tourism but still managed to generate $5 million worth of economic activity during that year alone. Finallyogy Prohibition ended fully on December 15th 1933 with passage of The Volstead Act which repealed all existing dry laws throughout America including those governing guns and ammo. This led directly to increased crime rates as many people who had previously been able to purchase firearms were now prohibited from doing so without fear of arrest or prosecution - something which only adds insultingly to their problems considering that most Americans owned no more than five firearms at any given time prior thereto! Unfortunately for Belle Fontaine residents such as myself who continued To possess Firearms even though they were no longer allowed by law...life improved somewhat albeit not much! In 1938, when World War II began raging across Europe, gun magazines started appearing all over America eager participants eager for whatever new weaponry Germany might bring ashore! At this point however things changed rapidly for Belle Fontainians; suddenly we were right smack dab in the middle of one of history's most infamous wars! Although we didn't see any combat ourselves our town was constantly bombarding German positions with artillery shells giving us a front row seat from whence we could watch every action unfold on television! And boy did our TVs get tuned into those events; often streaming live video up until hours after it happened making it difficult if not impossible for me notto be glued TO my screen! The war ended finally just three years later on May 8th 1945 with Japan capitulating – an event which effectively destroyed much of European civilization including our beloved Belle Fontainians whose town center remained completely uninhabited until 1949 when construction began on what would become known as “the Strip” - home today to several popular restaurants (including Pizzeria Rustica), Walgreens Pharmacy & Fitness Center (now known simply as Walmart), and numerous other businesses/residences including churches & schools etcetera etcetera). After World War II finished its' course however little did everyone know that there would be another round of conflict ensuing within less than two months...this one originating out west where Adolf Hitler had recently taken controlof Nazi Germany!!! Needless To say some quite interesting changes took place right hereabouts during that interim period aka 'The Zone!' A short while later things calmed down again…mostly because tempers got too hot among various factions involved (again resulting largely from differences over weapons ownership) but once again things are always changing - so be prepared for anything...or do nothing at all lol darn you NRA ;)

The town of Bellefontaine was founded by General James Wilkinson in 1812 as part of the land granted to him by President George Washington. The city annexed portions of Parkersburg County in 1922 and 2008 respectively; making it both an unincorporated community within City limits and also one of only two cities within State lines that have full annexation rights for all other counties within their respective borders (the other being Columbus).
