Bellefontaine is a small town in the Miami Valley region of Ohio. The population was 2,591 as of the 2010 census. It is located in Cuyahoga County. The first gun cleaning business in Bellefontaine was opened by J.D. Barnes in 1894. He had just moved to Bellefontaine from Cincinnati, where he had been a tailor and shot-gun enthusiast. Barnes established himself as a leading gunsmith and dealer in Bellefontaine and Cuyahoga County, selling guns both online and through his store on Main Street. The business grew rapidly throughout the 19th century, thanks to its excellent customer service and wide range of products. In 1902, Jens Olsen started an adjacent store on East High Street called "Oilers" which continued operations until it burned down in 1978. In 1927, Johnnie Walker founded his own whiskey distillery on WestMain Road near the old Barnes Store; this became one of America's most successful whisky businesses (Walker Brands today). Walker also initiated a significant renovation program at the old Barnes Store which included new flooring and equipment, as well as repair work on many older firearms including pistols and rifles dating back to the 1800s. At its peak, Bellefontaine's GUNSTORE could accommodate up to 350 customers at any given time! During World War II, BELLEFONTANE GUNSTORE served as Headquarters for First Battalion 24th Infantry Regiment within Company B of 25th Infantry Regiment (less 1st Battalion) from 15 May – 17 June 1945 under Lieutenant Colonel James Fenton commands UH-1 Huey helicopters evacuation from Japan . Many items available at that time such as machineguns ammo were not available for purchase outside the United States until after V-E Day when supplies began flowing into the country! Bellefontaine GUNSTORE closed its doors for good on 9/7/1976 due to lack of finances but reopened again 6 years later with new ownership when National Firearms Act requirements changed allowing antique firearms sales without prior background check

These companies continued to make firearms until 1906 when they merged into Winchester Ammunition Company. In 1907, Bellefontaine was renamed "Bellefontaine Township" and began using the motto "Guns not Politics." Since then, township government has been based strictly on arms control laws and regulations rather than politics or social issues.
Bellefontaine is a village in and the county seat of Portage County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,824 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland Metropolitan Statistical Area. Bellefontaine was founded in 1814 by Colonel John Bellefontaine and his wife Catharine (née McNaught). The village was named for Belle Fontaine, an American Revolutionary War general who had fought in Canada and been wounded at Saratoga. The town originally consisted of just a few homes on the banks of the Cuyahoga River. By 1840, Bellefontaine had a store, Methodist church, school, blacksmith shop, two churches (one Congregational), four hotels (all with boarding rooms), three public buildings (two Harper Street saloons and one Union Pacific Railroad station), twelve farmsteads, and eighty-eight people. In 1851–1852 the town added a post office; in 1857 it annexed what is now Mentor Township. Bellefontaine became an important coal mining community during the early 20th century due to its location near good coal seams being found near Cleveland. Coal production ceased in 1922 but continued until 1955 when all mines were abandoned except for one that closed in 1984 after being automated by modern technology. In 1925–1927 local citizens built "The White House" as a nursing home for employees of Brush Electric Company which then employed more than 100 residents from Bellefontaine as well as Mentor Township; however the plant closed down in 1957 because of competition from new plants owned by GEICO Insurance company across town which increased production rates faster than those at Brush Electric Company could keep up.

Bellefontaine was first settled in 1814 by French Canadians who called it Lachine. A post office called Bellefontaine was established in 1827, and remained in operation until 1958. In 1830, John Bellefontaine founded the village of Bellefontaine on the Scioto River east of present-day Bellefontaine. The village became a city in 1907 when it merged with other villages to form the Cleveland suburb of Euclid Heights. Bellefontaine is located at (41.724683, -81.569759). The Scioto River forms much of its eastern border and flows through its center; within Bellefontain's limits are two lakes: Lighthouse Lake to the north and Clearwater Lake to the south-southwest corner of town. To the southeast lie Maple Lawn Township and to the southwest lies Willow Grove Township both separate townships that became part of Euclid Heights after annexation by BelleFontaine in 1907. In addition to shopping malls and restaurants near downtown Cleveland, residents also enjoy their own neighborhoods within walking distance such as Upper Arlington or North Royalton which have older architecture reminiscent of rural America while still having access to many modern amenities like movie theaters and close-to-downtown shopping options like Akron Center mall or University Circle Shopping Mall just minutes away from town center!
Bellefontaine, Ohio was founded by the Bellefontaine family in 1796. The town was named for Marie-Jacques-Antoine Bellefontaine, a French nobleman who had come to America to become a landowner. The first settler in the area was Jean Baptiste Moreau, who arrived in 1797. The community grew quickly and by 1800 it had a population of around 100 people. In 1815, the town moved from its original location on the riverbank to a more permanent location near the present day intersection of State Route 31 and Griggs Road. The town experienced rapid growth during the late 19th century and early 20th century due to its strategic location as an agricultural center with access to both railroads and waterways. In 1916, Bellefontaine became one of three towns in Stark County (the others being Cleveland and Youngstown) that were consolidated under the authority of the new Stark County Board of Education. This consolidation created nearby communities such as North Royalton and South Royalton along with additional farmland within Bellefontaine's boundaries. In 1922, Bellefontaine became home to its first high school when East High School opened on Griggs Road. By 1949, all public schools in Stark County had been closedtered into district level schools pursuant to state policy at that time. With the closing of those schools, most residents residing within Bellefontain's borders transferred their enrollment to other districts within Stark County or outside Ohio altogether. Over time, many different businesses have located within what is now known as "Belle Fontaine". Among these businesses are several banks which have operated continuously throughout various incarnations including First National Bank (1899-1953), Citizens Trust Company (1954-1975), PeoplesBank (1976-present), Park Plaza Bank (1983-1997), JCB Corporation (1998-) and HSBC Bank USA plc.(1999-)
