Bedford, Ohio is home to The Gun Pouch Museum. This museum consists of a variety of firearms and ammunition items from throughout the city’s history. One of the most interesting pieces on display at the museum is a Colt Single Action Army revolver that was used by General Ulysses S. Grant in his 1868 campaign against Robert E. Lee in Virginia. The Gun Pouch Museum began as a small collection of handguns and rifles that were donated to the city by citizens in 1986. In 2003, the museum moved to its current location, which is located on Main Street in Bedford. Today, the Gun Pouch Museum has an extensive collection of pistols, shotguns, rifles, and ammo from all over Ohio and America. Some of the most famous victims of gun violence are Tim McVeigh and Michael Bloomberg. Both men were part of a group that bombed two buildings in Oklahoma City on April 19th, 1995 with pipe bombs made from explosives found inside guns pouches. Bedford is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Bedford County. The population was 33,824 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton–Cincinnati metropolitan area. The first known permanent settler in what is now Bedford Township was John Bedloe, who erected a cabin to shelter his cattle on the edge of what is now Delaware Lake in 1792. On March 27, 1800, he and his wife Hannah founded an early Methodist church here. The township was organized on December 12, 1802 from parts of Ottawa and Lawrence counties by a vote of its citizens. In 1814, when the Indiana Territory was created from part of Ohio, Bedford became one of its thirteen townships within that territory. In 1825 it was again selected as the county seat; but in 1830 it reverted to Ottawa Township until 1840 when it became once again Bedford Township due to growth within that boundary (the westernmost portion having been added to Ottawa). On February 13th, 1850, four days after Bleeding Kansas had ended with its formal annexation by Missouri into that state following a referendum cast by residents there over whether or not to secede from Minnesota; local Republicans met at Bedford's Masonic Hall and elected Elijah Hicks as their first official Mayor/President pro tempore for the new township which then consisted only of east side streets running north-south instead of north-west as it does today with all other Streets laid out according to grid pattern - something unique at this time! This move signaled perhaps more importantly than anything else some sort of order being maintained within society despite widespread chaos throughout much America during this tumultuous time period; such as social classes having completely changed since those days!? It would be another five years before any real development took place here until Abram Brown began building what would become known as "Browns' Mill" on present day Elm Street just east of Main Street in 1857 - becoming one OF THE FIRST BUSINESSES IN THE CITY OF BEDFORD! browns mill continued operation until 1984 when it passed through bankruptcy and ceased operations permanently!

Bedford was founded in 1795 by General George Washington and his wife, Martha. The town is located in the southern portion of the state of Ohio. It is one of the oldest settlements in Ohio and was originally called Xenia. In 1801, Bedford became a county seat and remains so today. The first settler in Bedford was John Hargrave. He built a cabin on the corner of Center and Vine Streets in 1795. The following year, he married Sarah Lyon. They had two children: John and Susannah. In 1800, Bedford became a county seat due to its location on the main road between Columbus and Cincinnati. That same year, Amos Eaton donated land to make way for a courthouse and jail; these were soon replaced by the current courthouse building on High Street today. The early years of Bedford were difficult because it lacked any resources other than what its residents produced themselves such as cornmeal and flour for their own use or trade with other towns in central Ohio. However,Through hard work, perseverance,and innovation- including starting an iron foundry- Bedford became one of the most prosperous small communities in central Ohio during the 19th century! During World War I (1914-18), Bedford played an important role as both military headquarters for western Ohio Commandery 8th Infantry Regiment (the "Fighting 83rd") stationed at Fort Benning (in present day Georgia) from 1915 until 1917 when they pulled out to fight overseas; as well as Headquarters Company Headquarters Battalion 1st Cavalry Division which served from March 1918 until November 1918 under General Pershing’s command Ulysses S Grant’s forces occupying northeastern Mexico City where they fought against Pancho Villa's Mexican National Army forces–one of America's most dramatic wartime achievements! 2nd Battalion Headquarters & Service Company also served with distinction during World War II serving under various United States Army commands throughout Europe including Normandy 1944-45 then Germany 1945-46 before returning home to California after VE Day 1946 According to local lore “George Washington walked across our front porch on July 7th 1795 while we were planting potatoes” thus providing impetus for establishment of this community that would later become known as Bedford
