In 1827, when Bedford became an incorporated town, it had only 10 residents; by 1840, however, its population had grown to 1307 people During much of the 19th century, Bedford experienced heavy immigration from Ireland and Italy due to their flourishing agricultural economies; these immigrants formed what is known today as the "Bedford Migrant Population". As industrialization progressed throughout America during this time period – characterized by widespread technological advances and new industry – many Italians began working alongside Americans in mills and factories across southern Indiana and eastern Kentucky until they were displaced by newer waves of Irish immigrants who took advantage of new opportunities available within American society during this time period. Many Italian-Americans also settled areas such as Arlington Heights (Chicago), western suburbs around Cleveland (Peoria), Buffalo Grove (Milwaukee), Lawndale (Toronto) – all neighborhoods which have retained significant Italian cultural presence to this day.. Bedford, Ohio is a small town in the U.S. state of Ohio located on the southern border of the Dayton-Dayville area. The population was 12,826 at the 2010 census. Bedford is known for its downtown district and its many shopping and dining options, as well as its two primary schools – Bedford High School and Bedford Middle School. The town is also home to a professional wrestling promotion, Global Wrestling Entertainment (GWE), which has its headquarters in Bedford Hills. The first settlers to what is now Bedford Township were Dutch farmers who arrived in 1696 and named their community after their farmstead near Bedford, England. In 1801, Ohio General James Wilkinson granted land to three men: John Wyandotte, Isaac Goodrich and Amos Nash for $1 per acre (0.50 km²). The township was organized on July 1, 1802 when it was part of Fayette County. On February 3, 1827, the township's boundaries were adjusted by means of an act of the General Assembly to include parts of Holmesburg Township (now Delaware County) east of Scioto River; this addition made Bedford one of nineteen townships statewide that became part of the new United States after Confederation in 1789 In 1830s and 1840s much growth took place in Bedford because there were numerous breweries throughout central Ohio starting with Pfeffer Brewing Company in 1836 followed by Griggs Brewery & Grill in 1840 then Gwynn’s Brewery from 1846 until 1861 when it merged into Anheuser Busch Brewery The first school in what is now Bedford Township was built on what is now Main Street between 1800 and 1800/1801 by Rev George Perkins who also founded Perry’s Academy which served students up until 1865 Bedford had a post office from December 1st 1850 until April 15th 1870 when it closed due to low mail volume following consolidation with other towns within Dayton On October 16th 1860 Rev David Raley began teaching German language classes at his house for children living here along with Methodist Sunday Schools during services held at Stowe Cemetery where he died on November 22nd 1860 . Mr Raley later become pastor at First Baptist Church where he preached from 1865-69 before being called back to serve as school superintendent from 1870-71 Then again from 1880-84 He eventually retired around 1912 leaving behind his extensive personal library consisting mostly German Bible books including Luther’s 95 Theses Incidentally David Hines also served as assistant superintendent for education here during this time period before becoming Superintendent effective September 14th 1906
