Bedford Heights is a town in Butler County, Ohio, United States. The population was 10,737 at the 2010 census. Bedford Heights is part of the Dayton Metropolitan Statistical Area. Bedford Heights was founded by English settlers in 1788. The first post office in Bedford Heights was established in 1814. It was renamed Bedford after General Henry Bedford who served as Commander-in-Chief of the American forces during the War of 1812. The town grew rapidly during the 19th century because of its natural resources and its location on the southern edge of what is now Butler County. The town reached its peak population size between 1890 and 1920, when it had a population of 15,000 people. However, following World War I and then World War II, Bedford Heights declined as other towns in Butler County increased in populations. By 1990, the town had shrinking populations and stopped receiving federal funding for social services such as education and healthcare. In 2000, however, Bethlehem Township (to the east) merged with Bedford Heights to form a new municipality which has continued to grow since then due to its strong economy and environmental awareness programskept by both communities

Bedford Heights was a small town in the northwestern part of Ohio, United States. It was located on the border of Bedford County and Stark County. The population was 1,827 at the 2010 census. The township was laid out byJames Caldwell in 1814. It was named for General George Washington Bedford, who had served as a colonel in the Continental Army during the American Revolution. In 1824, Caldwell donated land to form what is now Bedford Heights Academy and School District. Bedford Heights experienced a period of growth starting in the late 1800s when it became home to two large factories: American Heating and Air Conditioning Company (AHC) and Dayton Machine Works (DMW). AHC operated from its original building on Main Street until it moved to its current location on Screen Road in 1957. DMW operated from its original location at Mound Avenue and Seymour Street until it moved to its current location near Shaker Heights Boulevard in 1984. Both plants produced heavy machinery that helped drive up demand for goods made in America. They also contributed significantly to Bedford's economy through job creation, economic development, and retail trade opportunities; many people still remember working at either company during their childhoods. In recent years, Bedford Heights has seen some consolidation take place within its community as more businesses have relocated or closed down within miles of each other thanks to technological advancements like online shopping/ Shopping Mall complexes being built close by with easy access to Interstate 71/ US Route 422/ exit 15B which allows for quick shopping trips without leaving town!
