Bedford Heights, Ohio is a small town in the northwest corner of the state of Ohio. The population was 7,755 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton-Canton-Middletown, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. Bedford Heights is located on the eastern edge of Dayton and it shares borders with Middletown to the west and Uniontown to the north. The name "Bedford Heights" comes from a combination of two villages: Bedford Township (now part of Middletown) and Hyde Park (now part of Uniontown). The first settlers in this area were Germans who came overland from Germany in 1812. They named their community after Prince George, Duke of Cambridge (later King George II), who had died in 1811 while fighting against Native Americans near what is now Dayton. During World War I, Bedford Heights served as an ammunition dump for General John J Pershing's forces during their campaign against the Central Powers. After World War I ended, most residents left for various reasons; some returned, others moved away but kept their homes and businesses. In 1925, when Milton Corporation built its main plant east of Turnpike Road in Dayton, many new residents migrated to that area because it was then undeveloped and affordable. In 1957, when Interstate 75 was constructed through central Ohio and much farmland became available for development around it, many people made moves to Bedford Heights because they saw it as an opportunity to get closer to jobsite or city life without leaving their farms or home counties. Today there are more than 1,000 people living in Bedford Heights – all within walking distance of each other – making it one of the largest concentrations of human beings on earth outside cities or suburban areas. There have been several changes take place since those early days: In 1957 Main Street became Commerce Boulevard; later that year a grocery store opened on East Main Street; also that year a swimming pool was started which continues today as Bethpage Pool & Fitness Center; shortly thereafter a movie theater opened called RKO Stadium Playhouse which still operates today as an open air movie theater used by various events throughout the year including concerts by country music artists like Tim McGraw and Lewis Capaldi along with comedy shows like "Saturday Night Live".

Bedford Heights is a town in the u.s. state of Ohio, located on the border of Bedford and Mahoning counties. The population was 11,265 at the 2010 census. Bedford Heights is part of the Dayton–Cincinnati metropolitan area. The first settler in Bedford Heights was Abram Bedell, who came to what is now Bedford Heights in 1812 from Northumberland County, England. He built a cabin on the banks of the Maumee River. In 1814, he and his wife Rebecca moved to what is now Mahoning County and started a store called "Pottersville". They also raised two children, Abram Jr., born in 1815 and Mary Jane born in 1817. In 1830, John Davenport settled on land east of present day Mahoning County within present-day Bedford Heights Township and named it Davenport Station after his father Jno Davenport (1795-1868). The first post office was established in this township on October 17, 1830 by John Fenton with the name "Davenport". A village formed around this station but never grew large enough to take its own name; instead it became known as "Bedford Heights" after Abram Bedell's Pottersville store which had been renamed "Bedford" following an act of Congress in 1840 that changed the spelling of some U.S.-owned townships into their corresponding alphabetical order. At one time or another four churches were located within sight or reach of each other along State Road 7 north between current day Lyndhurst Avenue and Park Drive: First Methodist Church (now Arlington Presbyterian), Holy Cross Catholic Church (now St James Episcopal), United Methodist Church (now Wright Chapel) and Bethel Lutheran Church (now Bethel United Mennonite). Reverend Drury foundedBethel Academy west side lot number 4 on High Street about 1850-1860 receiving $10 per acre for his land - making him one of America's earliest private school trustees! His academy educated many Daytonians including future President George Washington Carver ! Mrs Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney donated her home/estate east of High Street near Davis road for use as a high school auditorium/ gymnasium for teachers during World War I which became Dixon Auditorium today! A 1916 addition to Dixon Auditorium included an athletic field measuring 253’ x 71’ with proper grassy sidewalls – becoming “the largest all purpose sports complex ever constructed by local public schools” according to architect Harry Wirthman – which still offers programs today! Original seats removed circa 1970 included northeast section towards Wexner Center where Professional Children’s Playground now stands – providing easy access for parents who wish to view their children during recess without having them sing out loud from inside their play structure!! Facility has seen numerous uses since then including Little League games, concerts by popular artists etc.; however most recently utilized as storage space for local residents displaced by Moore Decommissioning Plan
