Beavercreek is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio, on the southern border of Dayton. The population was 22,853 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Butler County and the second-largest city in that county after Dayton. Beavercreek was founded by Samuel Beavers in 1814 as a small trading post on Beaver Creek near present-day downtown Beavercreek. He named it for his father, John Beavers, who had come from England to explore what would become Ohio in 1792 and 1793. In 1817, James Kapp purchased part of Beavercreek from Samuel Beavers and renamed it "Kapp's Landing." In 1824, Joseph Perkins built a log cabin on land he had bought northeast of town along Beaver Creek. He named it "Perkins' Cabin" because he owned most of what is now Beavercreek Township and its villages today: Westville (now part of Dayton), Eastville (now part of Hillsboro), Rocky Fork (now part of Lebanon), Hocking Valley (now part of Oxford) and Pembroke Township (now one block east of I-75). The first school in downtown Beavercreek was built on Third Street between Market and Walnut streets in 1827 by local farmer George Willsoughs under contract with then-County Superintendent Lewis Cassius Mott. Willsoughs gave $500 towards the cost which raised $2,000 during 1827–28 school year; this enabled students from surrounding villages to attend school together without traveling home each day for tuition purposes alone! For many years afterwards public schools were operated out door only – until 1893 when Cleveland's first high school opened inside an old printing shop on First Avenue NW! At around this time beaver creek also became known as "the artery" running southwesterly through Butler County to Cincinnati proper! 1st Congregational Church located at 113 S Main St just south sideof current I-75 exit 4 served as church until 1898 when new white pews were erected & dedicated by Mrs Geo Ransom c1899

Beavercreek is a small town in the eastern part of Ohio, United States. It is located on the Scioto River, east of Cleveland. The population was 9,009 at the 2010 census. Beavercreek is home to many notable people, including author and mathematician Julius Caesar Macklinore, baseball player Joe Garagiola, and singer Dionne Warwick. The area that now includes Beavercrikee was first settled by Shawnee Indians in the 17th century and was known as "Otter creek." In 1814, General George Rogers Clark's army invaded Ohio and burned much of downtown Cincinnati before being repelled at Battle of Monmouth Bridge. Facing possible annihilation by British forces under Lieutenant-General David Wilkinson, Clark ordered his entire command to retreat upstream into what is now Beavercreek. This set off a brief but significant period in which American Indian land ownership changed hands multiple times between whites and Indians. The first white settlement in what is today Beavercreek occurred when John Stephenson built a log cabin on Otter Creek in 1800. He sold it to Nicholas Schlatter four years later for $2 per acre (about £0.50). In 1806 Samuel Beech bought an acre from Schlatter for $10 ($160 at current prices). Beech became one of the leading early settlers in what would become Beavercreek Township. By 1830, most of present day Beavercreek had been developed with only a few scattered houses remaining. During this time there were no schools or churches within town limits; citizens learned their religious beliefs from their family or neighbors who would take them to services outside the township boundaries every Sunday morning during worship service season! Although little remains from this earlier era other than some old cedar logs surviving as part of the foundation for present day State Route 422A (the main road through town), it does provide insight into how small towns functioned during these early days when roads were not easily accessible or affordable for most residents! As transportation grew more important during this time period - particularly with respect to agriculture - farmers began building larger homes near their barns and outbuildings so they could monitor their crops more effectively; soon enough we can see several large tractors parked out front on Main Street today! In 1829 Samuel Beech married Sarah Hutton (died 1858) whom he had met while working as cashier at local store Manning & Co.. They raised six children: five sons and one daughter who lived all throughout western Ohio until her death at age 83 years old in 1984; Sarah's husband did not live long enough to see any grandchildren born! Sadly Sarah's death prevented herfrom seeing her eldest son William marry his second wife – also Sarah’s niece – after she took careof him following his mother’s death! From hereonforth all seven children ultimately married women who lived within walking distance of their homes-adding further stability andependence upon public institutions like schools/ churches that quickly emerged during this period!! Aided by ample natural resources like coal beds underlying the township along with friendly locals residing within its borders - such as Methodists Episcopal Church along SR 422A-Beavercreek quickly grew into one of America’s earliest industrial communities ! Today we enjoy excellent public education facilities including our stately Main Street Schoolhouse which opened its doors 50+ years agothis week marking not only our Town’s 150th anniversary but also an occasion ripe with history bearing witness both inside and outside our walls Beavercreek was founded by men named Jameson, Stephenson, Beech & Hutton primarily because they needed land access to agricultural production beyond what they could find surrounding them on Otter Creek Road due to developing Erie County lands west of Akron OH&BA trade routes During its formative years beer brewing played an important role as horse teams brought produce back upriver where merchants sold it off fresh onto boats waiting at river landing points such as Canfield Landing Later industry included wagon manufacturing utilizing foundry methods available locally In late 1800′s canal constructions started connecting Syracuse NY With Toledo OH helping improve trade route opportunities
