Beavercreek is a city in central Ohio, United States, on the Scioto River. The population was 11,362 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Adams County. The name "Beavercreek" is derived from an Iroquois word meaning "a place where beavers dam up a stream." In 1907, the City Council passed a resolution designating Mayberry as the official name for Beavercreek. Today, Beavercreek features a diverse economy with several businesses including banks, restaurants and health clubs. There are also several high-end housing developments located within walking distance of the downtown area.

Beavercreek is a town in Greene County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,813 at the 2010 census. Beavercreek is located on the east bank of the Mahoning River. It is part of the Dayton-Muncie Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in what is now Beavercreek was John Ketchum, who moved west from Pittsburgh in 1792 and began to farm in what is now Beavercreek Township. In 1812, General James Wilkinson founded a military colony here known as Fort Delaware (named for Commodore George Dewey's flagship), which became an important trade center during the War of 1812. The town site was chosen because it would be near several water crossings on the Mahoning River. By 1830, however, only a few homes were built and business operations were failures due to lack of transportation or resources. In 1832, Congress created Greene County and assigned its eastern border to Beavercreek Township; this changed little until 1840 when again Congress reclassified it as part of Medina County when that county was formed from parts of Greene and Clinton Counties. A new courthouse had been built by 1835 but failed to catch on with residents so local officials designed and built their own courthouse in1853 which still stands today as one of downtown's longest lasting buildings! In 1868/9 another large courthouse project took place with funding from US president Andrew Johnson This building served as both court house and jail for many years before being torn down in 1978 following advances in technology that made such architecture obsolete! The building that remained standing housed various businesses up until 1984 before being dedicated as the "Beavercreek Heritage Center" inside which you can still find exhibits about early life here! It wasn't until 1945 when major renovations took place inside then outside finally resulting in an overall expandable complex including office space, housing units etc., making Beavercrike one of America's largest towns by 1950! After much debate it was decided that all public buildings should be redone beginning with the fire department headquarters - complete with a brand new tower - which opened its doors to the public on October 5th 1951! In 1969/70 Interstate 90 bypassed Dayton completely going through Beavercreek instead creating even more economic development opportunities for this small town nestled between two larger cities! Today much like other places across America – especially since Toledo has taken over most manufacturing jobs – Beavercreek continues to experience rapid growth thanks largely to its rich history & vibrant community spirit!
