Beavercreek, Ohio is home to a variety of firearms businesses, including several that specialize in BB guns. The town's history with firearms began before the turn of the century, when residents and farmers in the area began purchasing and using muzzle-loading rifles and pistols to hunt game. In 1907, a group of men from Beavercreek founded the "Ohio Rifle Association" to promote shooting sports in the area. Over time, other local gun clubs joined forces with ORA and developed into what is now known as "The Ohio Gun Club." In 1912, Beavercreek became one of the first communities in Ohio to enact a Municipal ordinance banning handguns. This decision was made due to fears that handguns could be used by criminals or Terrorists against innocent people. To this day, it remains one of the few municipalities in Ohio that has such an ordinance. BB guns were initially popular among hunters and recreational shooters in Beavercreek until World War II. After the war ended, BB guns slowly regained popularity as an option for those who wanted to shoot without having to worry about range fees or trying to find compatible magazines. In 1957, The OhioGunClub created its own magazine manufacturing plant within town limits so that more people could enjoy shooting without breakingthe bank. What followed was an era of growth for The Ohio Gun Club as members began importing new models of firearms from all over the world. In 1984, OGC merged with another local gun club (The National Shooting Sports Foundation) which helped increase membership by 15%. Beavercreek is a small town in Washington County, Ohio, United States. The population was 3,070 at the 2010 census. Beavercreek is part of the Cleveland metropolitan area. The first settler in what is now Beavercreek was George Stephenson, who arrived in 1795. He platted the village of Beavercreek on land that he had acquired from the Shawnee Indians. The community grew rapidly and by 1820 it had a school, store and Methodist chapel. In 1827 the village became a town and was named for General James Krieger, an American general during the Mexican–American War. Krieger's brother-in-law founded Beavercreek's first bank, which opened in 1829. In 1865 much of what is now known as downtown Beavercreek were built when Genesee County moved its seat from Ironton to Beavercreek because of racial discrimination against African Americans in that county. The post office was established here on December 12th, 1865; it continued until it was discontinued by telegraph on November 1st, 1907. The first store within downtown Beavercreek (owned by Wm Henson) opened on November 8th, 1871; it continued until it closed in 1972 due to competition from other stores near downtown Cleveland. The downtown business district experienced rapid growth after World War II as workers commuting into Cleveland increased demand for housing and businesses close to Interstate 71 (then called "the highway"). A number of single-family homes were built along Euclid Avenue between North Third Street and West First Street during this period; these neighborhoods are now known as "Downtown Erie". However, Downtown Erie lost some commercial anchor stores over time as new development developed around I-271/71E and nearby factories; today most businesses located near I-271/71E are used for residential purposes only or have been replaced by larger strip malls with more retail space than originally intended. The original streetcar line ran through Downtown Erie before being abandoned in favor of bus service in the late 1960s; today there is no evidence remaining of either line except for a few remnant tracks near Eighth Avenue and Wilson Boulevard which remain open to vehicular traffic but are not currently used for transportation purposes

The city's nickname "The Birthplace of Cleveland" comes from its location at the confluence of two major waterways—the Cuyahoga River and the Beaver Creek—which helped make it one of Greater Cleveland's earliest settlements and industries. The first inhabitants arrived around 1790 when Chief Wayne moved his village from present-day Hartford Township into what is now Beavercreek due to problems with flooding caused by heavy rains occurring each year during summertime. The city of Beavercreek was founded in 1815 by the brothers Solomon and Samuel Beech. The town grew quickly due to its location on the Scioto River, which made it an important commercial center. In 1830, Beavercreek became a county seat and was renamed to Dayton. The area now known as Beavercreek was heavily damaged in the devastating 1847 Dayton Fire, which destroyed much of downtown. However, the city rebuilt quickly and regained its former prominence as a commercial and cultural center. In 1898, Dayton annexed what is now Muskegon Heights parish into the city limits.
